Home Sweet Home

Hobo Jojo is no-mo.

Well, I live in Seattle now.

The trip up was long but uneventful. Plan audio-books didn't workout as fully as I might have hoped, due to a failed tape converter and some annoying iTunes permissions issues that I still need to sort out. But Sandra and I ended up listening (re-listening for me) to the Big Short from Medford on up, and I mostly listened to podcasts before I got there. Skipper and Eloise are sleeping together on the dog bed, one of five pieces for furniture we have.

The house is cool, it's got an upscale starter home vibe to it, with fancy kitchen and bathroom fixtures, and different color paint in every room. I could do without the paint actually. It's 50-60% bigger than our last place, but spread over three stories. Each individual level is smaller, but there will still be a full extra floor of space calling for us to buy more stuff.

I've grown to hate our stuff since the movers started packing it, only moreso now as its return approaches. Barring some art that has some emotional value, and some of the furniture so I have more than one place to sit down, it all feels like clutter. It's mostly books and games. I know when I have them back, I'll enjoy them. But right now, it just feels like leftovers from a need to regularly buy new things.

I'll be spending most of my weekdays alone for the next six months, since Sandra is traveling basically nonstop. Locked in our tiny downstairs "bedroom" with a bunch of computer equipment, popping upstairs to eat.

We went to two game stores on Saturday, sometime this week I'll follow up on finding some gamers.
