I find myself weirdly excited over the fact that McCain has picked a woman as his running mate. Yay for Sarah Palin! Normally I tend to think that race, gender, etc shouldn't matter as much as character and qualifications.  And normally I'm really resistant to the idea of getting emotionally involved in politics, because that seems like such a horrible way to make decisions for what's best for the country.   But here I am with this grin on my face because there just might be a woman vice president.  And if McCain won, and only served one term because of his age, she could run in 2012!  It's just so cool!  I'm sort of hoping that this feeling goes away soon, so I can think rationally about politics again.  I know in the back of my mind that there are a lot of issues.  I've become more pro-choice in the past few years.  I'm still angry at the republicans for loosing their small government roots.  I'm still upset that the environment has become a libreral issue.   Yeah, it's fading a little.  Soon I'll be back to that point where I'm angry at both parties for screwing things up so badly.
