Especially in the case of Severus Snape.

We're just going to completely ignore that he's been an asshole for all seven books. Now that we're going to kill him, we can give him the heart o'gold he never wanted.

As someone who loved Snape from the first time he marched in and snarked around (sounding familiar?) I always saw the hints of his good side. But I was really pissed at those "fans" who always complained - just like Harry - how bad of a guy he was , just to jump on the "We love Snape!" train 24 hours after DH was out

but yeah, heroic deaths just suck in children's books, soap operas and Torchwood

If I were Gregory House, I'd be watching for falling pianos from the sky. He's totally doomed.

And as a Snarry shipper, the connection between Snape and Doctor Oliver has NEVER slipped my mind.
