I personally think it has to do with reshoots. They probably had yesterday's scenes done first but decided somehow to add to the story line and filmed last week's scenes after. Soaps are cheap so even if the continuity between scenes wasn't there, they used the scenes anyway.

My opinion of course. I have no proof that that is what happended! :)

I'm thinking reshoots as well.

Van's hair is almost always the giveaway. It was significantly longer (and darker) in the episode yesterday than the one two weeks ago. :p

Van was off for a month shooting his film. This is the first of the seven episodes he shot in one week to catch up.

Yes, his hair, I had noticed but forgot to mention. :) Much darker than in the episode two weeks ago. :)

You didn't miss anything. :)

Everything happened just as you said: two weeks ago, Luke gave up his seat on the advisory board (effective immediately) to eliminate the "conflict of interest" so Reid could get his job back. Then later, Bob found Reid at Yo's and asked him to come back to the hospital.

So yeah. It had already happened.

As awesome as the episode was, there was MAJOR continuity fail yesterday. :p

Someone asked Van about this on Facebook:

Van Hansis: "good point. i have no idea. those two episodes were shot over a month apart due to the film. i didnt ask that question cause i had no idea what was going on when i got back to ATWT."

I try not to read too much into things on the show or think too much about them, so I just look at it as, Luke told Bob and Mona he resigned, but he probably didn't make an official resignation to the board itself. Also Mona may have been okay with it two weeks ago, but since that time she may have been steered into a different direction by the company, because I doubt she's the one making decisions.

Ultimately, I don't think Luke had to give up his seat on the board, because the problem with Mona was removed when Bob decided not to sell the hospital.

You're very well informed that's good.

I noticed the whole thing to but just decided it's soap and the boys are being cute so I'll just go with the flow.

I'm so glad this was discussed here, because after yesterday's show I just thought "WHAT????" and then "they already DID ALL THAT didn't they?"

Guess I'm not crazy after all . . . well :) not as much.

Mainly I think it's just another example of the same crappy writing that got the show canceled in the first place. But if you want an explanation that works within the storyline, the best way I can explain it is that Luke's original statement that he would resign effective immediately was not actually his resignation, but an offer to do so, an offer that was contingent on them getting Reid to come back to the hospital. Which actually kind of makes sense... it would majorly suck if Luke had given up his position on the board for Reid and then it turned out that either Reid refused to come back or Invicta refused to take him back.
