I'm not really sure what the hell is going on - I think the promo is being deliberately ambiguous to tantalise us. But...

While Reid could actually have Noah's best interests at heart, I kind of think that's not all that's going on here

I completely disagree with this. Reid is a brilliant doctor and he takes his job seriously. I think there's a medical reason, not a personal reason for wanting Luke to keep quiet. He absolutely has Noah's best interests at heart - even if it hurts him, personally. That's just the kind of guy he is.

I definitely hope you're right, and so far evidence is on your side, but Luke has already misread some of Reid's actions, and this coming one is an all-too-perfect situation for Luke to misunderstand. However, I'm being pretty pessimistic, and such an event may only force them to fight more and then make up more. Hee.

I also think that Reid just doesn't want to jeopardise Noah's recovery by causing him stress - and let's face it: his ex boyfriend being in a relationship with his doctor would cause him immense stress, since he wants to have Luke back and it would make his relationship to Reid totally awkward and Noah probably wouldn't want Reid as a doctor anymore (and since Reid thinks there's noone better than himself for treating Noah, that would mean jeopardising Noah's recovery - at least from Reid's point of view).

even if it hurts him, personally. That's just the kind of guy he is.

Totally agree to that!

And I also wouldn't give too much thought to the preview. They don't show us the best part of the episodes in the preview. Otherwise we wouldn't have to watch the show!

I don't disagree, I just don't have much faith in how Luke might interpret this.

I'm a bit nervous about the spoilers just because one of the writers for ATWT is a confirmed Nuke fan. They seem to be trying to make Reid less likable in order for Noah and Luke to bond again and that doesn't surprise me. Nuke is a supercouple and as such, the writers are going to find a way to shove them back together. It breaks my hear to even type this, but that's the vibe I'm getting. And it disappoints me.

Who knows? Maybe they'll surprise us and give us the Lure endgame, but right now, I don't see that happening.

Yeah! Especially since these scenes are reshoots, I kind of expect them to be a little more Lure-y. But if even the reshoots are neutral, that's worrisome.

Luckily a lot of Lure fans are blowing up that particular writer's twitter, so maybe she'll get the message :]

Oh, I want to do that too. Do you have a link to her twitter account?

http://twitter.com/susandansby

I made a twitter JUST to tweet her about Lure (nicely, of course).

It's not only interesting to read her tweets, but also to read all the "@susandansby" tweets (it used to be mostly Nuke requests, but now Lure followers are more prominent :]). And she does read them - she even mentioned in a tweet that the "kindness" Noah showed one day was a result of tweet requests that the relationship be a little less one-sided. So tweet up!

my concerns really stem from, though while reid wants to keep their relationship (whatever it may be) a secret, it's a soap, and of course everyone's going to find out. that would be soapy and awesome, but i suspect it will make noah upset and luke will be upset that noah's upset and maybe even fall into self-doubt and wonder if reid wanted to keep it on the dl for reasons like luke's some whiny college kid and reid is ashamed of him... setting us up for noah to win luke back.

:/

though i think the real intentions are that reid sees any big shock as potentially damaging to noah's recovery and wants to keep noah in the dark (hee) until he's ready to handle it.

...but i'm just going to read smutty fan fic now and daydream of lure endgame because even if the show ends with nuke together, IN MY HEART IT WILL ALWAYS BE LURE.

Hehe yes.

Yeah, I'm both looking forward to everyone finding out and really worried about Luke's reaction.

I'm hoping this will make more sense for Reid's character in context, because it is true, Reid's whole deal is how he's open and honest, sometimes brutally so, about how he feels.

But right now, ATWT writers, I am disappoint.

promo and spoilers are also making me nervous ... hopefully the writers are just messing with out heads

I do, too...and it's true, a lot of spoilers/previews set us up to think one thing while actually having very little to do with the episode. However, seeing Luke's uncomfortableness while deciding whether or not to say anything to Noah seemed very indicative of how he felt about Reid's warning. (Namely, that he doesn't want to keep it a secret.)
