So I've been so-so satisfied at work lately.. I do like what I'm doing, but I also often get the feeling that while I could fix a lot of the things I see as being wrong, I don't see myself being given the power to do so. true.. I know I can always come back.. Part of that equation is how much of my life I'd want to bring with me. The company would pay to relocate me, but if I bring all my stuff, I'd have to pay to get it home, or find another company with relocation, though that option probably wouldn't get me back to my own house.

They do offer 5 weeks of vacation, so there'd be plenty of opportunities to fly home, assuming I could afford to do so. Most of it does come down to compensation, unfortunately. I'm not so enamored with the idea of living there that I'd be willing to take a pay cut to do so. The high cost of imports, electricity, etc doesn't bother me. I like the idea of living local, eating fresh foods, etc. I would want to make sure that I made enough to fly home or help fly parents there, though.

From the research I've been doing, they do get honest to goodness snowstorms up there, though it probably is dry most of the time. I've seen pictures with 8+ foot drifts, and read talk of needing chains on the trucks and driving through a foot of snow. I guess people even go skiing/snowboarding there, though I don't think there's a lift or anything.
