Pub Day!

Sep 20, 2011 06:58

A whole bunch of my friends would suspect this means I am heading out for a Guinness and some fish and chips today.  Those friends are not wrong.  But I'm doing so in celebration of the other sort of pub day.  Yep, it is finally here:

The reception this book has received has been terrific.  Two starred reviews (Kirkus and Publisher's Weekly) and lovely kudos from Horn Book and Booklist.  I'm still holding out hope for a nice SLJ review, but I can't really do better than Betsy Bird's Fuse #8 review.  Plus, some terrific bloggers -- some friends, some folks I don't even know -- have taken the time to discuss the book as well. (more about that soon!)

This is what I'm really here to say, though:  My first signing for Hound Dog True will be at the Burlington Book Festival this Sunday  It is tough to find the info on the BBF Website, so I'll direct you to Kate Messner's Blog for a list of the events, topics, and times.  I'll be there doing this:

12:00-1:00   Reading in the Middle: A panel discussion featuring  Sarah Albee, Sarah Aronson, Cynthia Lord, Kate Messner, Ammi-Joan Paquette, Erica S. Perl & Linda Urban

and this:
2:15-2:45      Picture Book Storytime:  Kate Messner, Ammi-Joan Paquette, & Linda Urban

and then this:
3:00-4:00    Writing for Kids & Teens “SuperPanel” - A panel discussion featuring Sarah Albee, Sarah Aronson, Jeannine Atkins, Elizabeth Bluemle, Jo Knowles, Kara LaReau, Cynthia Lord, Kate Messner, Ammi-Joan Paquette, Tanya Lee Stone, and Linda Urban.

Then Monday, I fly to Los Angeles for events at Mrs. Nelson's Toy and Book (Tuesday) and Vroman's Bookstore (Wednesday).  But more about that later in the week.

Until then, if you're so inclined, celebrate with me right here.  Fish and Chips, Guinness, and/or uncontainable glee.  All are welcome!
