Well, it seems that we managed to break my computer. Orasi and me tried to change his old graphics card to my computer since mine is so small that my games crash all the time. I also put a new case fan at the back. The computer wouldn't start up at all. Only the light on the front panel blinked, nothing else happened. We changed my old graphics card back and the computer still wouldn't start up. And it can't be the fan, because at first we forgot to blug (sp?) it's power cord in. Orasi nudged one of those thingies protruding from the motherboard when he was putting the graphics card in, so maybe the motherboard is now broken.
I'll try again tomorrow. Sometimes a good nights sleep miraculously fixes computer problems. And it's not the end of the world because we have a backup computer with the same core setup as my computer so I can switch over to that, hopefully. It's just going to take some work.
This setback is just kinda bleh, because I specifically went to Verkkokauppa.com today to pick up the new fan and some thermal grease (piitahna) for the heatsink of the "new" graphics card. It's about a kilometer's walk from Ruoholahti to Jätkänsaari and it was freezing outside today, especially at Helsinki where the wind is often brutal in the Winters. Jätkänsaari is under development at the moment and I walked through this huge parking space/construction yard. There were no lights and it was late. It was probably not a good idea to go there by myself, but then I figured that even bad guys were probably indoors where it's warm and not outside in -20C.Grandma's funeral was on last week's Friday. It was a small and quiet affair with just the close family, no ceremony with a priest or anything like that. It was possibly the last time that I saw some of my cousins from that side of the family, now that both of the grandparents are dead. I had already said my goodbyes to grandma when me, mom and Nydi went to see her before they closed the coffin at the hospital's chappel (tilaisuus kulkee nimellä 'arkutus' suomeksi), so this funeral felt more like a formality.
