The Finnish AMV scene is evolving

Today was nice. Me and Nydi went to mom's bf's Summer home to help pick some raspberries. We also went to sauna and swimming besides picking a lot of raspberries. I baked some raspberry muffins, which were very good.

I can't really concentrate on writing right now as I'm listening to some really good music from the VCA videos. You know the saying "The way to a man's heart is through his stomach"? In my case I think that it'd be more like "The way to a girl's heart is through music". ^^

This evening I realised that I haven't yet switched my mobile's back to Finnish time. For three mornings already I've woken up wondering howcome I've woken up so early, when in fact my mobile's been an hour behind Finnish time. I can be such a doofus sometimes. ^^; The difference was so small that I kind of forgot about it.

There'd be two events where I'd like to be this weekend but I don't have the dough. One of them is Kettucon, which is in Turku. My siblings are going to Turska LAN (Vigil's LAN party) for the weekend. Maybe I'll go for a visit there on Saturday. We'll see.

I'm just jumping from one topic to another. Esrhan told me yesterday that he's leaving Arctic Tribe. After that there are only Venomi and Grekon left in the studio. Well, Venomi has only himself to blame for what happened to AT. It started out as a community for Finnish AMV editors and fans and now it's a skeleton of what it was back then. Well thankfully the fandom changes and evolves over things like that.

And based on the winners of the Animecon AMV contest I'd say that the fandom is doing very well. I didn't recognice most of the winners so we have people coming into the fandom who are still... what? Innocent? Not held back by the past, possibly. I find it to be very positive anyway. The fandom that I was there to form here in Finland is growing away from our influence. ^^ It's great. I really wish that I could've seen the contest. It's strange how I still feel like I'm involved even though I've only been observing the Finnish AMV fandom for a long time. They're doing just fine without me. Hopefully the new generation doesn't repeat our mistakes. Hopefully I learned something and won't repeat those mistakes in other aspects of my life.
