i'm debating closing my lj account.  i've had this thing since my first year of college.  but then what do i do?  that's about 6 years' worth of journal entries that i don't want to lose forever but i'm not sure what i should do....suggestions?

tonight i'm moving some of my stuff over to bach's.  i'll be moving the rest in the next couple of weeks ( Read more... )

whoa. today is also ian's first day of work (albeit on a different coast), ian and i ALSO referred to our 6-month as "anniversamathingy," and ian is ALSO about to shell out for a 42-inch plasma tv.

THIS IS CRAZINESS.

ben & i did the melting pot thing a couple of times - glorious is indeed the word.

i don't think you have to formally close your account; what you COULD do is make all of the entries 'private' so that no one but you can see it. it'd be a suitable archive of the last six years... i don't think it'd go anywhere. i'm kind of in the same situation, lj-wise... we'll see.

i also thought about printing the entries and putting them in a book of some variety since this is the only consistent journal i've ever kept. but that would kill a small redwood forest and i'm pretty sure i'd never read it again anyway. this is tricky.

hmm, i seem to recall hearing there is some service online that will print out your entire LJ in a proper manner. but your point stands about killing forests and never reading it again. but more to the point, why with the LJ hate?! dammit i do not want to completely lose touch with you and what is going on in your life when i scamper off to yale.

as for your inquiry regarding my whereabouts - i am indeed back on this coast, for a short time only. and most entertaining of all, the one weekend i'm actually here, i have committed (in BLOOD) to spend the entire time hanging out with my grandparents. though i mean, there is the possibility i could do something in the late hours, after they've gone to bed. that would be this coming weekend. we'll see. i heard a rumor rachel and sean are going out of town this weekend anyway. life sucks.

(i actually leave for new haven on august 1, but the two weekends before that are occupied by my family trip to the outer banks. i know, cry me a river.)
