ETA the fourth--bonus computer, not phone! So--I feel a bit like my point has been missed on some parts, so I wanted to clarify. I have absolutely no problem with cis-women-only rituals. I had intended to be there to show my support as well, but made the mistake of sitting down for a minute after dinner. 2 hours later, I woke up. Oops.

As a standard issue cis male, I don't know exactly where I stand on these issues. It would be easy for me to just stand back and ignore it, but I can't. I can see why someone might want a particular rite for womb-bearers, or mothers only, or division of people, really. But I find the "all women, unless you are a trans woman as then you don't count" really offensive. I try to accept people however they identify, and often it is just obvious energetically before anything is said what gender role somene is identifying with.

What really gets me in all this is the commentary I've seen elseweb from some of Z's supporters. About how evil the protestors were for discriminating againt them. The various "trans women aren't women" comments. Just makes me kind of ill, to be honest. Particularly in a group of people who I am sure have dealt with discrimination themselves at various points. I wish I could say I was shocked at how quickly humans seem to reverse the golden rule, but I really can't. But doing onto others what you hate being done to yourself seems to be part of the human experience.

I really think the con itself is doing the best they can with a bad situation, and for that I commend them. I wouldn't want to be in their pointy toed shoes.
