Technically, we had a Super Bowl party. What we in fact did, well...
One of our friends (Medievalist Friend) has just acquired a new broadsword. One of our OTHER friends (actually, my co-author on the World of Warcraft article!) has several swords, and theatrical combat training. So what we ended up having was a party in which we went outside and learned and practiced swordplay for quite a while, and did not watch the game at all, and cheered wildly while Medievalist Friend decapitated apples and a pumpkin, as they were thrown at him, with his new sword.
And then we toasted our success with some very good rum, and ate a lot of food, and watched the last, oh, minute or so of the game, and then played Timeline.
Yep, we know how to have a party.
p.s. yes, we DID watch the Avengers trailer. Afterwards. Online. More than once. ("Mr Stark." "Captain." Mmm...)
hello mr stark,
not about the super bowl,
geekery,
fantastic friends
