Not a happy place, eh? That makes me a bit sad, since I *am* a fan of the show, and wouldn't mind being excited about it with other people, but...sounds like a quagmire to stay out of, for now anyway...?

Flatterer. :-) No, but thank you! This chapter was supposed to be longer, and contain the sex, but I realized how long it'd been since the last update, and so I just cut it in half and posted the part that was done...which should mean the next chapter comes soon. (Erik, and Charles, will appreciate coming soon...) (sorry, couldn't resist!)

I love the original lai (I have a section on Marie's "Lanval" in Current Academic Book Project, actually) for how clearly drawn all the characters are, and how unpredictable and human they are: the werewolf's the most sympathetic, the king is compassionate, the wife is certainly NOT a damsel in distress, and so on...and of course in the Middle Ages men were more physically affectionate, but most medieval scholars would agree that there's some very pointed suggestion of male love affair, there, with the transformation happening on the bed, and so on!

As far as endings, well, the nose-biting certainly has to happen, doesn't it? *grin*
