Here, enjoy! It's about time. The rest should come faster, at least...I think two more chapters, unless it turns out to be three. Which it might. You never know.
Awesome Husband's back tonight, so I may be, er, preoccupied for a day or so. Still here, though! Love you!

*ahem* Excellent continuation, madam. I'm pleased to see more of this tale. ;-)
Charles, Erik thought, and knew that he couldn’t throw himself at Shaw, couldn’t be ready to die in the course of his vengeance on Shaw, not wholeheartedly.
This is just so perfect for Erik's journey in this fic. It's wonderful to see him treating the happy things in his life with as much weight as the tragic things. I'm still worried about the confrontation with Shaw, but knowing he's not planning on any reckless endangerment in pursuit of justice makes me happy.
Also loved the introduction of human!Erik to the rest of the staff ;-)

The second half of this chapter was of course going to be "...and then they had sex", but it was getting really long and I was feeling bad about not having updated in, oh, two months at least, so I cut it in half and posted the bit that was done. And then belatedly realized there should've been more Erik-getting-used-to-human-body in this half; ah, well.
Charles is probably a little more shaken by this than he wants to admit. Of course, so's Erik. They knew it'd be hard on him (Charles), but that was awfully close to going very wrong...

:-) I was re-reading misswinterhill's "Little Birds," as one does, and thinking about her Erik, who is so perfectly himself, still ready to fight, and yet figures out that what he's fighting for is the ability to feel safe--which is what Charles wants, too, for everyone. And for Erik safety means Charles. Priorities, he's learning them. (The Shaw confrontation...will be interesting...I don't have any of it written yet ( ... )

Little Birds! I've read it twice, and I'm probably due for a reread soon. I love that fic. So earnest and clever! I very much agree that Erik's fighting for safety for himself and his found family. It's when it get twisted up in his mind with revenge that it all goes wrong, so I'm glad he's self-aware enough to realize what he wants and needs (and loves).
Sean's priorities are A-OK! Strange naked men are strange naked men, and who knows what wacky experiments Hank gets up to? A guardsman must be diligent!
James Birthday fic, oh? *wanders off to look*

...but, anyway: they will indeed get to the sex soon. Though, because it's them, and Charles is not as recovered as he thinks he is, there will be complications...
I do love "Little Birds". I have that one downloaded. *cuddles fic* Everyone's so brilliantly in-character, especially (as they should be) Erik and Charles, and their relationship feels so right for both of them. <3 ( ... )

Regarding tumblr though, don't worry you don't have to follow me back, I wouldn't recommend my tumblr to anyone :P as I tend to have unpopular opinions (mostly in the Sherlock fandom to be precise)

I did have to giggle at Erik's continuing instinct to make Hank nervous though, and everyone else getting more of an eyeful than they bargained on when they burst in!
Also, the blanket is just brilliant - I can imagine Charles grumbling in annoyance every time Erik uses it to scoop him up and carry him places, yet very obviously not stopping wrapping himself up in it... *g*
Oh, and rage and serenity - of course... :)

That is obviously Sean noticing the important detail, like the naked Erik in bed with Charles! Someone had to. Exactly. Out loud, he's all, "No, you caveman, I can entirely walk, put me down..." and then wraps it around himself more comfortably anyway. Neither of them says anything ( ... )

He definitely had other priorities! Priorities that he would consider far more important! Plus, it's not like he'd never been in a human body before - I suspect there would be a fair amount of muscle memory that would carry him through at least the initial period, even if he then started finding certain 'human' things a bit odd...
Tony Stark cameos are definitely awesome! I rather like the idea that he's in the background of every universe, inventing insane but strangely useful things and pretending he doesn't have a heart of gold!
It's lucky for Erik that he's clearly not going to have to be as noble as he's prepared to be, isn't it? ;) (Although it must be nice to have someone want you that much, no matter the circumstances...)

Oh, hey, that's true; so I'm going to pretend that's my reason... :-)
Tony'd probably like the idea of being in every universe, too: "of course I'm indispensable, how could I not be...?" And then secretly he'd be glad, because he'd be helping people.

*hugs*
And, yes--he's definitely getting a reward for all his patience--though, of course, it's not as if it's going to go entirely smoothly...Charles really isn't up to much exertion, it turns out... *tantalizes*

I adore this: He’d only been human again for a couple of hours. He’d forgotten how badly it could burn one’s throat, to need to cry. ♥

ALL the hurt/comfort, this fic. Seriously. Poor boys. But I'm glad you like; that means it's working! Oh, and that line...that one was a last-minute addition, so yay! I thought it needed that underscoring, there: he's just now rediscovering what it means to be human, and one of those first discoveries is--so cruelly--the hurt of tears... But the next chapter'll be better! Promise. :-)
