Honda Hoods Are All the Rage

Happily I got a call from the cops yesterday saying the found my car in a v. scary neighborhood next to what appears to be a chop shop. The cops said it was only missing the hood and the license plates. Apparently, someone really needed a Honda hood complete with dings. They must be all the rage this year ( Read more... )

Glad you got it back, minus the hood (scratching my head at that one) and plates.

Though I'm cringing in horror about you having to deal with the DMV.

I saw the car this morning. Way worse than the cops told me. They not only took the hood, but the hatch door, lights, spare tire, side mirror, side trim and they took off (but left!) the inside door panels to get to the speakers which didn't work and so they left those behind, too. The parts are probably going on a "racing club" car (those two toned Hondas you see occasionally). I'll know Monday if she's totaled. So sad.

That's totally uncool. I'm wondering if the cops were oblivious, thought it had been in worse shape than it was pre-theft or somehow thought they were doing you a favor by making it not sound as bad as it was. Bleah. That sucks.
