My dad e-mailed me earlier tonight to say my maternal grandmother passed away on Tuesday. She previously lived with my parents for a while, but my dad was having a hard time taking care of both my mom and grandmother due to Grandma showing signs of dementia. I went to another job fair on Thursday, which turned out to be a waste of time. To begin with, there was a huge line outside the hotel because the job fair was held in a small conference room. My dad was on the phone with the hospital when I arrived for dinner tonight. He said my grandmother had started to have dizzy spells, along with high blood pressure and fluid in her lungs. On Sunday, I fell asleep at home because I was so exhausted after working a double shift at KRCC. I completely forgot that my family was holding a 90th birthday party for my grandmother. My mom fell and broke her ankle last week. She came home from the hospital a few days ago.
