New Vid: Multifandom -- Fringe, Alias, Joan of Arcadia, To Kill a Mockingbird

So, for the first time in four months, quirkyoppossum and I actually got to hang out.  While we did that, we decided to vid together again (our first collaboration since May of last year).  Normally, when we vid, we tend to do shipper vids, but this time we decided to go outside our comfort zone on that and do a tribute to our favourite aspect of our fandoms: Parent/Child relationships.  Now, not ALL of our favourite family relationships are in here (cos Rose/Jackie, Sam/Ruth, and Buffy/Giles would be there too if we could have fit them.)  But we wanted to keep it to only a few fandoms and focused on those four family relationships that are what kept us coming back to the fandom over and over and over, even if other aspects of the show were leaving us rather cold at times.  For that, we went with Alias, Fringe, Joan of Arcadia and To Kill a Mockingbird.

Both of us are really close with our parents, and well...we had always wanted to use this Billy Joel song for something, so here you go.  My father used to sing this to me as a lullaby when I had problems sleeping from the ages of 5 to 8 (I had pretty bad night terrors as a child), and I sang the song to my nieces as a lullaby when they were growing up.

Finding media that does justice to a parent/child relationship and keeping it interesting while still showing all the highs and lows of such a relationship is tricky.  But these are four fandoms that we felt not only did it well, but did it with nothing but honesty and respect for such a relationship.

PLEASE let us know what you think.  This one is not very effects heavy (especially not compared with the last vid she and I made together, which was crazy in terms of beats and such), but we wanted this one to be about the emotion.  We hope it makes you smile.
