fun times

Jun 19, 2011 22:20

The past few weeks have been, well, awesome. Not in a shallow 80s grunge kind of way either. PA was a hell of a lot of fun. I had forgotten how much fun one of the old groups from CUA was. I had not seen some of the faces for a long time. We were all dressed up. Growed up. Or so the years ought to show. But not last night. So much laughter. Not sure what it is about me - why people feel so comfortable having the conversation take on a seriously sexual and BDSM nature. *trying to look innocent* Talking about seriously violating our hotel rooms later. Butt marks on the ceiling and all that. Dave talking about how the reception band music was the soundtrack to porn and making whipping noises with his hand. Phil coming up behind me to dance seductively and talk about how it makes his husband jealous thus leading to amazing sex. Talking with KD's significant other about strap-on O rings and all the things you can put in them at which point he told me he absolutely adored the way my mind worked. KD grinned and winked. Such wonderful laughter. It was a hell of a lot of fun. Chris turning to me and saying at the end of a great eve, "God, you have the best laugh. It's so contagious." *grin*

My Sandi: standing on the street corner in her wedding dress trying to flag my ass down because Dave and Patrick screwed up the directions. I am sorry the police stopped to ask if you are OK, but how we will laugh.... Me driving folks to Wawa at whatever time AM trying to get the bride a hoagie because you never really got to eat at your own reception.  How we laughed when Chris gave them a run for their money when he screwed up the whole process of their rigid ordering style.

Lara talking about maybe moving back down to DC and asking if I'd take her to the "goth" club with me. She promised she'd wear the "right" clothes. I couldn't help but want to hug her for thinking it matters. I felt so badly when she said she should have spent more time with me way back then. Like those years mean more than the ones ahead..

I'm sorry Mike decided to go to sleep early, but he looked wonderful in his beautiful groom suit. Kevin talked to me about how to put in hardwood flooring all by myself. And of course then told me it was Phil who did it rather and so maybe I ought to talk to him instead.  Yeah...we'll see if I take that on.

Nick trying to think of creative drinks to get me drunk. He did get me tipsy, thank you. I thought I might sashay across the floor at one point. When Patrick found out - he cried out, "already?" It might have been 6 at that point.

Kate asking why we didn't bring our penis straws from the bachelorette party. I pulled out my penis popsicle from that night. Everyone laughed. Little and pink. Cute.

Asking Larry about his motorcycle....  Sorry I got his wife upset, but I asked only so I knew if it was in the vicinity because one of these days I'm going to steal it.  Harley....  *drool*

We all talked radio and social work. Homelessness and gay rights issues. We talked about advocacy, adoption, marriage, divorce, changing your name legally (straight and gay), and when Patrick and Kate asked me to help them out financially with one organization I offered to work the streets for them. Not sure I'll make any money, but I'm willing to shake a leg for a good cause.

And the..what..4 other brides we saw?  So cute that the boys all agreed our bride had the best dress and we should offer our condolences to the lot of them with cake when the others dared to walk by.

Lara taking pictures of the back of my car because, "Oh my God, you have more stickers than me!" Chris was totally impressed with my license plate.  Hell, I am too.  I'm going to be famous one day...mostly because of my car.  Wait.  Didn't this happen before?

It was sad to have to say goodbye to the eve, but I'm thankful for the time I had.  KD did try to get my ass up at 7 AM to meet her in the pool as planned, but I wrote back telling her that was great & I was going right back to bed.

If these walls could talk....  Hell, we weren't even arrested.  Although there was a police officer involved.  Good times.

Yes, Sandi, we all had an incredible blast getting to know each other again in your setting. So thank you. Thank you for everything.  I hope you broke Mike's back last night.   Or at least put some marks on the ceiling.  xoxox
