Amy Helmsley surveyed the mess that was her bedroom that she shared with her twin sister Tara, the seventeen year old in the middle of packing for her summer vacation. Usually, she, Tara, and her older brother Hunter would head to their grandmother’s ranch in Arizona and help out with the cattle drive. Granted, it wasn’t much of a break since she already lived on a working ranch in Texas but it was still different. This year, however, they were going north of the border to their uncle’s farm just outside of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. From what Amy had been told, her uncle was mostly into livestock and maintained respectable herds of cattle, bison, llamas and sheep in addition to growing wheat, corn and various vegetables.

Apparently, however, her uncle had a recent shortage in staff and was in desperate need of help for the summer, hence why Amy, Tara, and Hunter were being sent.

But they wouldn’t be alone, of course.

The Helmsley siblings would be accompanied by their new step-siblings. Fortunately, Amy got along well with her step-sisters Jamie and Trish, and her step-brother Phil while the hacienda style home was large enough for everyone to have their own room. She and Tara still opted to share a room because that's what they were used to. Tara was currently doing laundry, leaving Amy alone for the time being. Even if her step-brother had a penchant for invading her privacy at every opportunity…

“I still say they’re shipping us off because they want the house to themselves,” and speak of the devil. Amy turned from her open footlocker trunk to find her step-brother Phil ‘Punk’ Stratus standing in the doorway. “Maybe they had their honeymoon but, ya know…”

“Don’t you have your own room?” Amy questioned, crossing the length of her bedroom so she could peruse the contents of her dresser. “Or maybe packing to do? We are going to be leaving tomorrow, you know.”

Punk scoffed, inviting himself in and flopping down on her bed. “I know that but it’s not rocket science. We’re going to a farm and we already live on a ranch.”

Amy rolled her eyes, “it’s still not the same. We raise horses and cattle. There’s a lot more going on at Uncle James’ farm.” With a handful of t-shirts and jeans, she made her way back to her bed, tossing the clothing on top of the numerous pairs of boots that were already in there. “And do you mind? I’m trying to pack and you’re in my way.”

Punk rolled his eyes right back, managing to snag one of the belt loops of Amy’s jeans shorts, tugging sharply and causing the redhead to topple. “You’re always trying to ruin my fun,” he spoke as she fell against him. “Take a break and relax.”

Amy shut her eyes tightly, counting backwards in her head. “You’re my step-brother.”

“So? We aren’t related.”

His thumbs grazed teasingly over the exposed flesh above the waistband of her shorts and Amy couldn’t deny that he did have a point. The fact that they had dated before their parents got married to each other notwithstanding, Amy also couldn’t deny that she was still attracted to her step-brother. And if the look in his eyes was any indication…

“Hunter could walk in at any minute.”

“He’s probably jerking off to the latest Playboy.” A beat passed, “and Trish is on Skype with her boyfriend, Tara is in the laundry room, and J is taking a bubble bath. So, Amy, you’re out of excuses.”

Without giving her much of an opportunity to protest, Punk kissed her; Amy resisting for a moment before giving in.
