tags Sam unrolled a sleeping bag, the younger Winchester preparing to sleep on the floor amidst the arguing that was still going between his older brother and that Shelley kid. Unfortunately it looked like there was no resolving that anytime soon and quite honestly, Sam didn’t want to deal with it. Really no one looked particularly eager to intervene… Amy having escaped earlier and followed quickly by one of the other recent arrivals. One of the others, Sam believed it was Josh, had gone to ask about having a cot sent to the hotel room and Jamie was taking a shower.
Jamie Sky… only a girl the last time that Sam had really seen her. A cute girl, but they’d been younger and more naïve then.
Now she was a beautiful woman and Sam couldn’t help but notice. It had taken nearly all of his willpower to not do anything when they’d slept side by side the other night. Of course he realized that his timing was terrible, but at the same time, he didn’t want to not do anything. Even if she didn’t feel anything, Sam had to at least try before all was said and done.
Dean let out an annoyed huff, “all right smart ass, so you won… big deal.”
Alex puffed out his chest, “you’re right, it is a big deal because I get the bed.”
Punk opened the door, Amy entering before he did though it was the tattooed male who commented. “Have you two finally resolved your little bitchfest? The rest of us would like to sleep sometime tonight.”
Alex mimicked his cousin, the brunette running a hand through his hair, “weren’t you the one who was saying that sleep is for sissies?”
John and Randy had already unfolded the sleeper sofa, the shorter of the two graciously offering the space to Amy. In turn, the redhead extended the invitation to Punk.
“Maybe sleep isn’t such a bad thing,” Punk retorted after he’d accepted Amy’s offer, the redhead then entering the recently vacated bathroom to change into pajamas and brush her teeth.
Jamie yawned broadly, “I think that we should all just shut up and go to sleep.”
“Amen, sister…” John voiced his agreement as he settled into one of the chairs in the room. “After the shit we went through today, I want to sleep until next year.”
Sam coughed awkwardly to get Jamie’s attention, “I know it isn’t much,” he said and indicated the sleeping bag. “But it beats sleeping on just the carpeting.”
The corners of Jamie’s mouth curved into an appreciative smile, “we’ll share.”
Once Amy had exited the bathroom, Punk entered; Josh returning with the roll-away cot at that exact moment. Finding a spot for the cot was another matter entirely with space being such a valuable commodity in the cramped hotel room. But, once he saw the sleeping bag and the occupants therein, Josh decided to find a spot that was furthest away.
While he wasn’t quite expecting for Jamie to just jump back into his arms, he had thought that they were on their way to repairing their relationship.
But, then again, Josh had never heard much about Sam Winchester until recently. And that was only what Alex knew, which really wasn’t much to go by. All that Alex had known was that Amy and Jamie had grown up in Kansas with two brothers named Sam and Dean.
Sam, the younger of the two, was now sharing intimate space with Jamie while Dean was apparently sharing the only bed in the room with Alex… the two still arguing about sleeping space and keeping one’s ass on their side of the bed as everyone else was falling asleep.
