Tags Although she wasn’t exactly a big woman, Jamie looked absolutely dwarfed in Josh’s hooded sweatshirt; the blonde woman currently curled up on the couch while they watched a baseball game. They were supposed to be meeting one of Josh’s co-workers, Chris and his wife Trish along with Amy and Alex. But, Jamie wanted time to herself, stating that she really didn’t want to go anywhere just yet and Josh wasn’t about to force the issue, so he agreed to just stay home and watch the game on television.
Josh had just gotten up to get more popcorn when the doorbell rang, the blonde man setting the empty bowl on the kitchen counter first.
Needless to say, he was more than a little surprised when he peered through the window pane on the door.
“I thought you were going to the baseball game with Amy?”
“She’s still not speaking to me,” Alex replied simply. “Or maybe she would, I don’t know. I haven’t tried calling her lately.”
Josh shook his head, “I don’t want to know, dude.” Stepping back, he opened the door to give Alex the unspoken invitation. “But somehow I don’t think you’ll be able to talk yourself out of this mess.”
Alex grimaced, “yeah, probably not… she’s pretty pissed.” Removing his sunglasses, he continued, “and she’s got a mean right hook.”
Josh opened his mouth to reply to that only to stop when there was a familiar sound of feminine laughter. Laughter that he hadn’t heard in some time and causing both men to turn towards the sound, finding Jamie nearly doubled over on the couch because she was laughing so much.
“I don’t know if I should be offended or not,” Alex said honestly and then arched an eyebrow at the blonde woman, “but don’t think that I’m gonna go let Amy use me as her personal punching bag just for your amusement.”
Jamie’s reply was another giggle, Josh elbowing Alex and suggesting that the brunette should get snacks and more beer.
