Tags Even with the relatively relaxed TNA schedule, Lita’s personal schedule decides that it suddenly needs to be busy. She’s also scheduled for autograph signings though those aren’t really a bother. Still, when she’s in Orlando for the tapings or on the road for the house shows, the redhead finds herself spending time around Alex.
And the change is subtle, at first, a conversation here and there, either at the arena or in the gym. Slowly but surely, she lets him into her life and in turn, he lets her into his.
Lita also quickly comes to realize that they share quite a few things in common and have a similar sense of humor. But that doesn’t make her feel any less apprehensive about going on a date with him. In fact, there have been more than a few occasions where she’s almost been tempted to call the whole thing off.
But, she always ends up changing her mind again, sometimes due to Velvet and sometimes due to Alex.
Still, it takes another month before she actually finds herself on that intended date, partially because of their schedules and partially because they can’t agree on Atlanta, Detroit or Orlando for the location. Neither feels that they should have to travel elsewhere just for the sake of a first date. And that is definitely something that they can agree on.
So they do compromise and pick Orlando which settles at least one element of their date but as it concerns the remaining details, Lita’s kept in the dark. As a result, Lita doesn’t quite know what to expect and a part of her prefers it that way because too much formality and tradition is liable to dissuade her. Alex doesn’t strike her as the type to be formal anyway, but that still does little to combat her curiosity.
They stay near to Universal Studios and Lita questions if they’re just going to stay at the amusement park.
She’s pleasantly surprised when their first stop is at a go kart track.
“It was either this or there’s also this indoor, glow-in-the-dark miniature golf course. But I figured that could be a second date.”
“And just what makes you so certain there’s going to be a second date?”
Alex grinned at her, “because you didn’t back out of the first date.”
Lita rolled her eyes, “the night isn’t over yet and I still reserve the right to walk out.”
“I know,” he replied in a matter of fact tone, “but I don’t think that you will.”
“We’ll see about that,” she said, the two standing in line.
There was a moment of silence, though not uncomfortable, “how about we put a small wager on this race?”
She arched an eyebrow, “what kind of a wager?”
“If I win you kiss me and if I lose, I kiss you.”
“I don’t think so.”
“Afraid you’ll like it too much?”
“You’re awfully cocky, aren’t you?”
Alex shrugged, “it’s better to be cocky than hesitate and regret.”
Lita smiled wryly, “I guess I can’t argue that but that still doesn’t mean I’m going to kiss you.”
To that he says nothing, paying for their tickets as they’ve finally arrived to the front. And as it turns out, they both end up losing to a twelve year old though Lita does place before him in the standings. That settles little in regards to their previous wager, which was never made official in the first place.
“Race you again?”
“You’re on.”
The date is memorable and Lita does have plenty of fun, though she had partially been expecting that. And when they arrive back to the hotel, they settle the matter of a second date with a second kiss.
