Since Chris had come to school after all, Jamie ended up getting a ride home with him. That left Punk to get dropped off at home and Alex to get dropped off at home briefly and then taken to work, the former of the two seated in the passenger’s seat so he could tease the redhead. Or at least he did until she threatened to kick him out of the car while it was still moving… Punk keeping the teasing to a quieter minimum.

In between dropping Alex off at home and taking him to work, Amy headed home to change into normal clothes; the path to her front door blocked by an unwelcome sight.

“Orton,” Amy bit out, “what do you want?”

“To talk,” he replied simply. “Can I come in?”

Amy scoffed, swinging her backpack to her front so she could dig her keys out. “No… and what makes you think I’d want to talk to you, anyway?”

Randy sighed, standing and moving to the sidewalk so he was standing in front of her. “I want to apologize.”

Amy glanced upwards, “do you see any flying pigs up there?”

The tall brunette rolled his eyes, “come on Amy, I’m being serious. You and I are going to fix this.”

Amy arched an eyebrow, “fix what? Newsflash, Randal Keith, you turned your back on me right after my dad walked out.” Crossing her arms, she continued, “So what makes you think that there’s anything left to fix, huh?”

“I was a jerk, I know that, and I’m sorry, okay?”

“No, it’s not okay! You and that asshole Helmsley were supposed to be my best friends.”

“Amy-“

“And then you both just turned your backs on me when I needed you?” Tears threatened to spill, Amy shaking with barely controlled rage, “fuck off, Orton. I don’t need you around anymore. I have real friends.”

“Amy, please, just give me a chance to make it up to you.”

“I think she wants you to leave,” Alex spoke from behind the distraught redhead. “So, leave.”

“No one asked you, Shelley.”

“Are you a moron? She doesn’t want you here.”

Randy sent her one last pleading look before crossing the driveway and shortly disappearing inside of his house.

Amy squared her shoulders, keys in her left hand, “thank you.”

Alex reached around her to take the keys, “don’t mention it, Ames.” He turned her so she was facing him, “are you going to be okay?”

“I will be,” she reassures, waiting until they’re inside the house before she continues, “I just need to change and then we’ll go.”

“No sweat,” he replied and made himself comfortable on the couch, “my shift doesn’t start until 6:00 anyways.”

Amy paused on the landing of the stairs, “Alex… it’s not even 3:30.”

Alex nodded, “I know… what’s your point?”

“Don’t you have homework to do?”

“Well, yeah, but so do you…”

Amy rolls her eyes, realizing that he intends to copy her homework in homeroom tomorrow morning. “Sometimes I don’t even know why I put up with you.”

While Amy is upstairs, her younger brother comes home, the redhead finding her brother and Alex playing video games downstairs… on a whim, she offers to take Evan along with them when she drops Alex off. Their mom has another long shift at work, so the two siblings are on their own for dinner again. Taking the envelope from the counter, Amy counts out the money and determines that they have enough for sushi.

Alex is invited by Evan or invites himself, either way he comes with them.

They run into Punk and Daffney, Amy and Alex making plans with the aforementioned two to head to a concert on Friday night. Amy doesn’t mention that she has plans on Thursday night with Mickie, Punk, and Scott… that’s Punk’s business and Amy has no intentions of getting involved.
