SPN fiction rec
I rarely do this, partly because I always worry about offending someone that I didn't rec, but this is such a fantastic story that I think it should be read.

That actually tells you a lot about the story and what teand is trying to do with it.
This story is what I love about fandom. It is beautiful in form and compelling in content. I read SPN incest stories and enjoy them, but this is about what is fundamentally wrong with that kind of relationship. It ignores the question of taboo in favor of the issues of relationships and love and need. John is not an evil monster, just a man, and a father. Dean is not a submissive soldier, just a teenager, and a son. From Dean's point of view, we get a powerful sense of the effect this relationship really has on him, and, though it avoids being a moralistic tale that beats you over the head with the wrong, it is deeply disturbing and realistic.
I actually think I want to do more recs. I avoid reccing the ones I love so so much to avoid offending and I think they deserve attention.
