(no subject)
So a few weeks ago my parents decided to purchase a unit out in the boonies of Taipei County. Since then, the management company has sold 50 units...and they seem to be using a line I said to my parents. The parentals kept asking me what I thought of the place, and I said that the land breathes. Because it does --it used to be tea fields, so there's not much contamination of spirit or soil. And now the agents use that line on the prospective buyers --prices have shot up by NT$10,000 since we bought our unit. One old lady who wound up purchasing a unit in our tower reportedly joked that she'd sue if she didn't see our happy little lao-wai family moving about.
....I feel alternately flattered and irritated. Where's my share of the profit? Grr. Still, it's good to know we locked in a lower price. Tomorrow we're heading out to see the unit once more, in part to figure out how to go about planning the interior. The agent's office has lovely, free, sweet popcorn. Mmm, yummy.
I watched Aliens vs. Predator last night. I thought it was a fun, silly movie, though I have to admit I'm a sucker for the interspecies bonding that go on between Lex and the predator. Way to throw subtext of forbidden romance into a maxed out franchise! So like a good little consumer of mass media I popped over to FFnet to find fics, admittedly hoping for decent romance. Oh, shut up, I'm silly.
And two things become apparent: The word 'Hunt' is SO OVERUSED as a word in titles in the Aliens/Predator section, and while it's a definite change from the overuse, Submission to Love is a bad, urple title even in legitimately gushy, WAFFy fics, much less an AvP fic. *dies* And over on Affnet, my brain was utterly broken by this summary:

I did manage to find a few good ones, though. *giggles* A little annoyed that all the Predators seem to have insanely large, human-type cocks, though. Human males have oversized genitals for physical proportions --evoluntionarily speaking, it's a bit of a waste and there's speculation (fluff science variety, I believe) that penis size is the human evolutionary equivalent for bright colors or horns. Still, I'm pretty happy.
Went browsing other fics, and had a hankering for Bulma/Vegeta DragonballZfics. Came across a PuffyAmiYumi and DragonballZ crossoverfic. And an AU fic where Vegeta is an ice skater. I just....wow. O_o
