YGO 'inspirational' posters. XD

FMA yaoi flashgame. I know the page says not to direct-link to the page, but I can't find an earlier point at which to link. The Shinobi link is all in Japanese and I can't make heads or tales of it all. Anyhow. Fun game. Really not worksafe of the NC-17 variety. Al is not an available option yet, though. That's okay --Roy and Ed are plenty fun, and with Ed you have the option of toys! I feel like I now need to learn Flash animation. *shifty eyes*

Brilliant article/editorial on Lumos 2006. One excerpt that made me step back and think, Gee, she has a point about one of my favorite HP ships:

"I think that if I hear the word 'discourse' again, I'll scream, although it's when I go to 'Out of Bounds: Transgressive Fiction' that I get really annoyed. It's a seminar analysing Hermione Granger-Professor Snape fan fiction. That is to say, a relationship between a teenage girl and a forty something man, which often, it transpires, takes the form of a rape narrative. There are 200 women in the room. And a whole lot of talk about female empowerment and gender reversals, but, frankly, if it was 200 men talking about rape narratives involving underage schoolchildren, it would be a matter for the police, and I don't think this is empowering anybody."

*snerk* Still, I don't see that many Snape/Hermione fics of the school-aged type. There was one or two really squicky ones, but overall I've yet to find a large enough selection of fics of school-Hermione and Snape to warrant a seminar attracting 200 people. But maybe that's just me, and my avoidance of FFnet. And really, it's difficult to weed through all the suggestions that involve dance lessons one way or another (what is up with the obsession of making Snape take/give dancing lessons? Why can't he do something with his hands, like, I don't know, basketweaving or piano-playing? He'd do the moody Phantom quite well, methinks.), and then to weed out the adult!Hermione fics from the teen!Hermione fics.

Side note: Draco/Harry fic which has me actually enjoying Quidditch in textual form. Plot and characterization were decent, though not the best. Really, I just liked it for the Quidditch plays, which is unbelievable to me because textual Quidditch is dull, and fanfic Quidditch usually moreso. Lousy title, though. Draco and the Heart of Slytherin.

And, oddly enough, I've found a HP/Anita Blake crossover fic. And I enjoyed it. O_o Amazingly, the author has managed to replicate LKH's tone and characterizations almost perfectly. Sadly, the author has managed to replicate the increasing tediousness as well.

Finished my contest entry, and deleted my incomplete rough draft on LJ. No one really gets to read it until after the contest is underway. *petulant tongue-sticking*

I must send out a plea to my fellow ficcers: How do you copy and paste from MSWord to LJ without stripping the whole damn thing of the italics coding? Everything I've tried has also caused problems where two words will sticktogether without rhyme or reason. I've tried copy and paste as both text and html, saving as various file formats and C&Ping, trying both my Semagic client AND the online Update page, and nothing works. ARGH.

I really don't want to write all my fics in my Semagic client. I'd really rather use MSWord. On the bright side, I finally get to add one more fic to my Fanfics folder. *cheers*
