Woke and could not recall,
Passing out, asleep so deep.
Sweat on my forehead,
Confusion in my brain.
Do you think perhaps?
That not being able to fall,
Into a quiet slumber for so long has...
At long last caught up with me?
Sweet slumber,
Heavenly pleasures of a sound sleep.
After the torment of lying awake,
Worn to the bone,
Yet the unforgiving consciousness…
Hovers silent as a nightmare.
Oh sweet respite how I missed thee.
