My birthday was on Friday, and Chris had been teasing me about a gift he made for me. It's been kind of tight around here, and we knew we weren't going to be able to do much to celebrate, like we usually would, but I knew any gift he made was going to be wonderful- I just didn't know it was going to be the best gift I've gotten, like, ever. I _told_ him people would want them. He said with time and materials he couldn't do them for less than $200/$250 and no one would pay that much (it was something like 20 hours of work for him). I dunno- do you think that he's right? I know I'd pay that if I had it- but I love the guy so I'm biased. Thing is, he would be doing them custom too- he picked the color and fixtures because he knew I'd like those... I dunno. What do you think?

I'd pay like $350-$400 for something like that, but in like a cherry red finish.

(So my opinion is that he should totally sell them, but for more than he's quoting, since people would pay more)

OK, so we talked about it, and he said he'd be uncomfortable charging more than $250 + shipping- but he's thinking that it would be $100 more for customization. And that's not color- I'm thinking it's size? In any case he's building a "sister" box, so he can have a more accurate time and shipping weight and speed of construction, and whatever. I'm gonna bring mine along to WCWC for squee-ing if you want to get a good look at it.

Oh, I have no idea at this point. With my upcoming move I'm not really able to focus on much else-especially when it comes to money.

No worries hun. I know moving can be all kinds of stressful. Just take it slow and you'll be done with it before you know it. If you do decide you want one, sometime after you're settled in, let me know and we'll make you something nice :D
