In 2005, I
:
- started reading LiveJournal, claimed I wouldn't keep an LJ, began keeping an LJ, occasionally managed to actually post to my LJ.
- worked on three novels: wrote nearly all of one over the course of the year while finishing the rewrite of what exists of another, plus wrote the beginning of a third during NaNoWriMo.
- appeared on the
radio, reading an excerpt from one of my novels.
- created a writing room from what was once a hopeless mess.
- elevated my levels of interest and stress at work by assuming leadership of the new-this-year
On the Web editorial feature.
- commenced enthusiastic consumption of raw sushi, bacon, alcohol, and coffee, all of which I had previously avoided.
- reconnected with some friends from high school and college, had a first meeting with an online friend, and made new friends.
- hosted a lot of out-of-town visitors.
- took trips to Washington DC, Los Angeles, and the closer California counties of Monterey, Marin, and Mendocino.
- spent no time in Massachusetts, for the first year since I was three years old.
- watched a great many movies.
- read too few books.
- bought a minivan.
That seems like a reasonable set of accomplishments for the year. Naturally, I hope to achieve even more in 2006.
Happy New Year to everyone!
