It's the first day of November, people! :D That's right, NaNoWriMo has begun - and I'm actually on target (unlike last year)!
I'm using the 750words site to write out my first 1667 (ish) words of the day, so that I'll actually get points on it, but I think I'm going to do some more later (I have a film to watch for my German lecture tonight; so I'll probably do more then) -- just to make sure I don't fall behind this year. I really, really want to hit that 50k. In fact, no, I really, really want a finished story. I did manage to get to 50k in AugNo (45k on one project, plus 5k of added stuff through the month - because I had done 50k that month, but not on one thing); but the main project was not, and is still not, complete. It's really only halfway through, but I haven't got around to fixing that yet.
Which leads me onto the next topic, of... I kind of really want to do Milwordy next year.
I'm going to see how well I do on NaNo. It doesn't mean I have to hit the 3k a day this month (though that would be awesome), but I have to at least get the 50k without too much hassle, and without waning of interest. I mainly think that committing myself to that - even if I don't hit a million words - means I'll have a few hundred thousand more, and hopefully a few first drafts more than I have managed to complete this year.
It's going to be thought about a lot this month.
But anyway, how's everyone else's first day of NaNo? Also, what does everyone think of the new word count stats page on the site? It's got loads more information at the bottom now; kind of cool, I think :)
