Summery: I wanted to write some fluff after watching the Season 3 finale, so I took some classic fairytales and rewrote them Warehouse 13 style! The fairytale: The Steadfast Tin Soldier - Claudia/Fargo
Rating: PG, I guess just to be safe.
Spoilers: Up to Season 3, just because of the inclusion of Steve.
Disclaimer: I don’t own Beauty and the Beast (whether it’s the original story, Disney, etc.) or Warehouse 13. And yes, I did use quotes from the Disney movie, so don’t sue me for that Disney.

here The next night Fargo hopped over to the castle. Claudia was dancing on the glass surface again. He took a deep breath. “Okay Fargo, be a man. Go talk to her. Be a man.” He took one step to go talk to Claudia when, next to Claudia, a jack-in-the-box popped up.
“Hello Claudia.” MacPherson said, smiling at her.
“Hello.” Claudia said nervously.
MacPherson slicked back his hair. “You make a beautiful dancer.”
“Thank you.” Claudia said, backing away.
“I was wondering if you would like to dance with me...” MacPheson started when they were distracted by Fargo, who tried to subtly get Claudia away from MacPherson.
“Hey Claudia! The rest of the soldiers were wondering if you wanted to meet them. They’re trying to meet everyone in the room, you know, get a feel for who’s who...” Fargo’s voice trailed off as MacPherson glared at him. Claudia smiled appreciatively, glad for the distraction.
“I’d like that. C’mon.” She said, grabbing his hand.
“Wait just a minute-” MacPherson said, but Artie had suddenly appeared, staring daggers at MacPherson.
“You’ve been a toy in this room for as long as I have James, and she’s only been here for a few years.” They heard Artie berating him as they walked away. “I don’t want to see you bothering her anymore.”
“You may think you’re in power here Arthur -” MacPherson replied, but Fargo didn’t hear anymore as he jumped to the floor. Claudia hesitated.
“C’mon!” He called back up to her.
“I can’t. I’ll get chipped.” She called back fearfully. Oh yeah, he had forgotten that certain toys could be broken. He was made of tin, so he couldn’t be so easily broken, but that wasn’t the case for Claudia.
“Wait just a moment.” She said, running to where a small ladder had been built by the children out of Legos. Carefully she made her way down it until the last few steps, when she slipped and fell. Fargo caught her before she hit the ground.
“Thank you.” Claudia said, in his arms. They stared at each other for a few seconds before they heard a wolf whistle.
“Way to go Fargo!” Pete said cheerfully. Fargo turned around to see Pete and Steve staring at him. Claudia blushed and he set her gently down.
“Let’s go meet your friends Dougie.”

“So...you and the ballerina.” Pete said. It was few days later, a warm balmy evening after a thunderstorm that left all the toys sleepy and the playroom windows open (which had Pete trying to catch bugs with his bayonet).
“We’re just friends.” Fargo replied automatically.
“Oh, don’t think we haven’t noticed.” Pete said. “You spend every night with her.
“We just talk.” Fargo said.
“Annnnnnnd?”
“And dance.”
“Yes!”
“But she’s a ballerina. She lives to dance.”
“But does she dance with anyone else?”
“No...just me.”
“That’s my boy!” Pete cried out. “Just hope that Artie doesn’t kill you. He’s really protective of her.”
“Better you than that jack-in-the-box.” Steve said, motioning over to the box that held MacPherson. “He gives me the creeps. Especially when he’s around her.”
As if on cue, MacPherson sprang out of his box. He looked around and saw Claudia dancing. A leering smile came over his face and he reached out to her, trying to make her dance with him.
“Hey!” Pete said. He and Steve starting hopping over to the Claudia’s table. Fargo was already climbing up the post that led to the table’s surface.
“I said stop it.” Claudia said, ripping her arm out of MacPherson’s. “I’m not going to dance with you.”
“You dance with that disgusting one legged thing.” MacPherson said savagely.
“Because he doesn’t force me to dance with him. And he’s not a disgusting thing and even if he was, I’d dance with him a thousand times before I would ever dance with you!” She said. MacPherson lunged for her, but she had the nimble quickness of a dancer and easily avoided his grip. MacPherson made one final grab, but Fargo stepped between Claudia and MacPherson and thrust his bayonet into the jack-in-the-box’s hand. MacPherson howled in pain. He picked Fargo up and threw him out the window.
“No!” Claudia screamed, trying to go after him. She raced over to the window, but was stopped by Steve. “Let me go!” She yelped. “He could still be down there!” Steve looked down into the street, but was saddened to see that Fargo was nowhere in sight. “The water must have taken him away.” He told Claudia gently. Tears welled up in Claudia’s eyes.
“Where is he?” She asked softly.

Fargo had fallen into the water streaming outside the house. To a human it was a little stream, but to a toy it was a river. Fargo saw that the children had plenty of toys outside, including a little wooden boat. He used his bayonet to the boat over to him. He climbed into it and tried to direct the boat, but it was useless and he soon slipped into the sewer system. The boat made its way past large rats that tried to snap him up and eat him. It was only by using his bayonet that he was able to keep them off. Then the boat slipped into a deeper part of the sewer system. The water swallowed him. He tried to stay conscious, but he couldn’t keep his head above water. His final thought as he sank into unconsciousness was of Claudia dancing with him.

The sewer led to an ocean, and in the ocean some poor fish mistook the little tin solider for a tasty snack. But aside from the misfortune of eating a tin solider, the fish also had the bad luck to get caught in a net belonging to a fisherman. The fisherman sold fish which went to the city of Univille, which was bought by a woman named Leena who had a family with a young boy staying in her B and B for a while. As Leena cut open the fish, a little, battered tin solider fell into her palm.

“Poor Claudia.” Artie said, staring at Claudia, who was sitting, too depressed to dance. “She used to be such a happy toy.” He sighed and then turned to Pete and Steve. “Is there any news on Fargo?”
“Nothing.” Jinks said. “We think he was swept away by the waters.” He stopped talking, noticing as MacPherson popped out of his box and began to harass Claudia again. She moved away, not wanting anything to do with him, but he grabbed her arm. Steve’s hand tightened on his bayonet and he started to run forward and help Claudia. But then he stopped, eyes wide when he heard footsteps.
“HUMAN!” Artie screamed. Immediately all the toys rushed to get back into their original positions.
There was a pause as Leena came into the room, looking for a place to put Fargo. She noticed that he had often been placed by the ballerina after being played with by the children, so she placed Fargo down by the sad ballerina. “There.” She said. “Now you have your friend back.” She smiled and left the room.
The instant Leena was gone Claudia flung herself at Fargo. “Dougie!” She squealed. But she was pulled back by MacPherson. “Let me go!” She said, tugging herself out of his grip. He reached for her again but Fargo grabbed her hand and tugged her backwards. They ran to the end of the table. Nervously, Claudia looked over the edge. It was a long drop for a little toy.
“You are the most annoying little vermin I’ve ever had the displeasure of meeting!” MacPherson snarled. “You keep popping up everywhere!”
“Window’s closed tonight!” Fargo taunted. “How else are you going to get rid of me?”
“Dude, what are you doing?” Claudia hissed.
“Trying to make him mad.”
“Tell me you’ve got a plan.”
“Yes. Well, kind of. Trust me.”
MacPherson jumped forward, trying to disrupt the couple. Steve, Pete and Artie tried to help them, but they were too far away - they wouldn’t be able to get to them in time.
“If you don’t have a plan, Doug, I’m going to kill you!” Claudia hissed. Fargo jumped to the floor. “Claudia, come down!” He yelled. He held out his arms. Claudia hesitated once again, looking from him to MacPherson. “Claudia - trust me!” Claudia closed her eyes and threw herself off the table. MacPherson lunged after her, his hands grabbing for her as she fell.
Claudia fell into Fargo’s arms and the second she touched them he grabbed her and threw both Claudia and himself out of the way. They safely watched as MacPherson fell to the floor, smashing into a million pieces. Claudia threw her arms around Fargo and gave her hero a very nonverbal thank you.
“Way to go Fargo!” Pete, Steve, Artie, Myka and H.G. ran to them. “Are you guys okay?”
Fargo broke the kiss to gasp for air. “Oh yeah.”
“We’ll...give you some alone time.” Steve said, dragging Pete away, followed by the others.
Fargo smiled and held out a hand to Claudia, who grinning with delight at him. “May I have this dance?”
And they all lived happily ever after.
