LUMOS SORTING APPLICATION

Name: Kasey B.

Age (13 or up; we stick to LJ rules): 14

Location: NY

Where did you hear about this community?: (Please tell us which
lj user recommended you for he/she shall be given a point.)Someone told about it in an appplication at _middle_earth_ :D. I believe it was alexandriterain.

How much time are you willing to invest in this community?: Hm.....As much as I can! I love sorting communities! However, due to the fact that it is currently summer, my full attention with probably not be given :/ *dodges stones*, but I will not be one of those people who joins just to see what people think of them, and never do anything for the community. I will be as active as possible! :D

PART 1 - Canon

1. Have you read all the books?: Almost. I got my copy of the 6th one the day it came out, and I have been working on it. I have to admit though, I am not one of those people who just dives into it. Though I have read all the other ones atleast 4 times each. :D

2. Give us your personal interpretation of each Hogwarts house (in
terms of atmosphere, mentality, intra-house relationships et cetera -
these are just a few examples).: Hmm....well, obviously Slytherin is the less friendliest out of the bunch, and has had some pretty nasty people come out of it, but they also see like people who are very dedicated in their own beliefs, and try hard to pursue them, no matter what (the no matter what part is the part where things usually go bad, haha). Gryffindor, on the contrary, is the house that held/holds many great and kind wizards who went to achieve great goals and benefitted the wizarding world. It holds many brave people who are easy to trust. Hufflepuff isn't exactly popular amoung Hogwarts (judged by how it is portrayed in the books), but I don't see why. I think it's as good a house as all the others, for it holds very kind and cheerful people, who are easy to befriend. Ravenclaw isn't heavily stressed in the books, except for Cho Chang and small ties with less important characters. But it seems to have people of great intelligence in it, and, to me, seem to be in tough competition with Gryffindor.

3. What would be your favourite flavour of Bertie Bott’s Every
Flavour Beans and why (note: as the name implies, all possible flavours
exist)?:Hmm......well, my favorite food is pasta, but I think that would make a pretty nasty jelly bean, if you ask me. :P. Um, I guess I am the kind of person who sticks to the standard flavors, like fruit. I love lemon and cherry flavoured jelly beans, so I will go with that. Too many of my favorite foods would make gross jelly beans.

4. If you were on your House’s Quidditch Team, which position would
you preferably play and why?:I would probably be a chaser! I love playing basketball (even though I am not too good at it, :P) and I think it would be fun! I don't like the idea of blocking balls from going into a goals, or hitting bludgers around with a bat (hate baseball). Overall, I'm not a fan of contact like that. Besides, I'm better with hand-eye coordination things than strength things. Haha, and seeking, I'd be fine with finding the snitch, but chasing it would kill me. :P

5. (Optional) What HP conspiracy theory do you hold true unless it
is textually proven otherwise? (i.e. Snape is a vampire, Ron is
Dumbledore, etc. -there are loads of these theories. Feel free to contribute
your own)?: Sorry, I can't really answer this one. I have never heard of any! (Ron is Dumbledore...whaaaaaat?)

6. (Optional. If you can't answer #5, make sure you answer this
one.) What is your favorite book aside from HP and why?:Haha, my favorite book is actually quite different from Harry Potter. My favorite book is probably When My Sister was Cleopatra Moon. This probably becuase I can relate to it the most, being a Korean American myself. The storyline is very real, and I find myself either thinking of myself or other Koreans that I know and placing them into the story. It is also very well written, it isn't some lame cheesy chick book. It is really deep and deals with sensitive situations.

7. What would your Room of Requirement look like?: Apart from it looking exactly like Hagrid's Hut...It would probably be very symetrical (sp?) and well balanced, because that's who I am (haha, so it wouldn't really look like Hagrid's Hut after all :P). Um, I would like a good color contrast, and make a cool design with the colors black and white. Like, white walls and floors, black furniture. Black bordering on the walls, black doors. Various black and white striped furniture, yea. It would be a very cool looking room. :P

8. Describe your wand and tell us why you picked that design.: Don't know exactly what you mean, the wand picks the wizard! :P Haha, but it would probably be a dark wood of some sort, no bigger than 12 inches, and have unicorn hair. Why? The dark color would match me better (practically black hair, tan skin, you know....) and the size would match me as well (I'm 5'1"). I would like unicorn hair because they are amoung my favorite mythical creatures :D.

What's Your Personality Type?

10. Who do you admire most and why?:This is probably a pretty common answer, but I care most about my friends and family. They are the people I know the best, and who know me the best, and i don't know what I would do without their guidance supporting my everyday decisions. I believe these people hold a great deal of significance about how you develop as a person, and what you are like personality-wise. They also tend to be great people to turn to for support when you are down, and are great to have around when you are having a good time!

11. What would you like to have accomplished at the end of your
life?:Geez, this is a tough question that I have never really thought of before, haha. Hmm, occupation wise, I would like to have graudated college, gone through medical school, finished internship, and opened up my own psychiatrist firm. I would like to get married, and adopt children (because adoption is a beautiful thing). But personally, I think I would like to finally like to be able to look at myself in the mirror, and like what I see (I know, sounds very cliche). Because at many times, I am not pleased with what I see. It's not that I think I'm ugly or anything. But sometimes I think decisions I've made, actions I have performed, and etc. are just very stupid, and it refelcts on me as a person, and how people see me. I know that not everyone who meets me is going to like me, but I would certainly like as many people as possible too. :D

12. Would you sooner commit a crime against your kin or your
countrymen?:Countrymen, probably. My kin are closer to me personally, and I can't imagine having them angry at me for something.

13. What would your animagus be and why?: My animagus would definetly be a cat of some sort, like a black jaguar. I think cats are very sneaky, playful, and curious creatures, and that is how I am! :P

14. What would your patronus be and why?:My patronus would probably be something small and quick, like a hummingbird or something. That just describes my personality so well. I am a cheerful person, and quick to make decisions, and am always busy. I am also quite small. :P

15. What career would you consider if you were indeed part of the
wizarding world and why?:Hm, as a normal person, I wouldn't want to be a teacher, but in the wizarding world, I would! I would like to teach at Hogwarts when I get older. The subjects are much more interesting, and I find myself enjoying reading abut them in the books. So if I like them so much, why not invest in a career where I can discuss these things everyday? :D

Happy voting! :D
