What did you get to replace your snackoos?

[a pause as he thinks, before he speaks again]

And this town made me a paperboy. A paperboy.

These new ones at the grocery store. It turns out they had some karinto there, so, I bought a packet or two.

[she whispers 'twenty' in a low voice, but you didn't hear it. 8|]

Well. There are some perks to the jobs, I guess. Wasn't it enough that we got kidnap? They also expect us to work here?

You must really like snackoos if you went so far as to look for a replacement.

Plus they poison and torture us whenever they can. What else is new?

It's useful for when I don't want to talk people.

The events I just outlined? Like, who's our new mayor? I didn't know milkmen could become mayors.

... you eat your snackoos to avoid talking to people?

We don't know him as anything else but the milkman. He's the one who tried to poison us.

If you're not talking about science then I'm not going to waste my breath! There could be snackoos in my stomach!

[she changes her tone into serious, very quickly.]

He tried to poison the town?

[he decides not to comment on that first part with the sarcastic remark he was preparing. Poisoning is more important anyway]

Yeah. He left poison in Maya-san's orange juice, and the milk all over town.

S-She's fine now, right? How bad was she feeling when she drank the juice?

[brb, checking the fridge. oh look, there is milk here. she returns to be able to talk to kaito.]

... If only I had my kit. I could figure out if this bottle is poisoned.

[a long pause] ... she died.

He hasn't poisoned the milk since then, but I still don't trust it.

She came back the next day. No one stays dead here.

I-I guess... but still. That's impossible. I can't believe that sort of things happens here as well.

Murder happens anywhere. It's kinda sad, that so many people are willing to stoop to that level.

Believe you me. I know how far someone is willing to go when it comes to murder.

It doesn't justify what they do, but sometimes you understand why people kill others. Just here, it is too casual and too cruel. Killing others than bringing them back to life, not only is it impossible but it serves no purpose other than to repeat the cycle again.

Mayfield is strange.
