[the celebrating townspeople don't seem to notice that anything has gone remiss once people start to crowd around and enter the curtained archways. the festivities continue on like normal, even if the proverbial clock has begun to tick for the trapped residents--but something is different about the townspeople's behaviors. they seem...more ( Read more... )

OKAY so let's make a list of things that might be what we're looking for. If there are as many things as people, well. Easy. If not this will get complicated.

THE OBVIOUS TARGET IS THE NEPTUNE STATUE. Someone more clever than I can figure out other possibilities.

Call it a ... gut instinct? >.> But I can make some reasonings for it.

-The Founding festival is going on now.
-The stone sundial is "a gift from the Luministi Founders many, many years ago". And, well, we all know about the town's 'founders', eh?
-There were vials of poison found as clues. The poisoning took place at the founding festival last year.
-A basket of Verita's was found, with notices from last year. Question: were any of them about the founding festival?
-A subtle clue - the stone sundial is far from the Neptune sundial; the one at town hall would be too close. And the one outside the clinic looks to be a smallish one. We were prompted that the two are not close together, and that we need something bigger than a stick to destroy it.

...Okay, typing it all out, it's making sense. But man, please, if anyone can make a case for another sundial, please say? XD

I dunno, I'm all for taking out the one near the clinic. The clinic itself would probably be too big, but it's a suspicious place.

That's pretty tied in with the sense of a town, yeah? Like a central focus. And since that got cut out of accessible areas for a bit… Sounds worth hitting, definitely.

Haha, that's true… I don't think we really know that those tied into the arches.

I can answer the thing about Verita's basket contents. There might have been a mention about the Founder's Day Festival in there, but any event that went on last season there would be a notice for, even for ones that happened off-screen like the Archery Club's meetings and job advertisements at places like the library and such.

Thank you for the detail! ^.^

I think that the locations we were sent to via curtain is a hint.

Jamie, Xion, and Natsuo were sent to the Sheriff's Office.

Hawk, Croix, Mu, and Ichijou were sent to the Town Hall.

Sophie and Fuu were sent to the path leading to the mayor's mansion, but that's obviously where we'll be able to make our escape.

Ah, and while I'm here:

- Xion is good at destroying things. She has magic and a deus ex machina beatstick. No... Not just one, but two deus ex machina beatsticks. Maybe this is a good opportunity for her to break out the second one and be badass. :D

- If need be, Xion can be the one to come up with this idea -- the one about the locations behind the curtains being clues. I kind of want to send her to the Sheriff's office to investigate his desk, so that works out. :|b

Moving this over for discussion: I think maybe the idea of the locations we were sent to through the curtains could be important. One went to Town Hall, one went to the Sheriff's office, and one went to the path to the Mayor's house, yes?

That path redirects to the statue in the center of the town square at first (before it dumps you in the lake).

Maybe we should take that statue down, guys.

Great idea! Now that you've pointed it out, I think so, too.

I'd be willing to have Jamie have a go at it, but he'd need something that could actually affect it. Maybe the grenades from Wash. Or a REALLY big sledgehammer.

I vote sledgehammer!

It's really tempting, but the picture of the statue looks metal. If it is, not sure how much a sledgehammer would damage it.

Some corrosive substance might work too. Maybe a combo, but I'm not at all sure there'd be enough time to pull one off.
