[from somewhere within the grand Mayoral house, a grandfather clock chimes the hour, and when it does, it's soon accompanied by five clicking sounds. those with keen ears might even be able to hear them. a moment later, a picture of a door is sent to all the CAT devices. the door should look familiar as it has been the only locked door to remain inaccessible for the past two weeks.]
[only now, a
golden easel has been place outside the door with a sign set upon it that reads:]
Come in! Please wait inside until you are called.
[the four previously occupied rooms are now empty, the people within having seemingly vanished--or have they? if anyone looks at who exactly sent the picture message, they'll notice the CAT code looks an awfully lot like that of the Mayor's...]
❧ Plot Details: The Final Countdown
Mayor Caligin speaks! Sort of. In probably the most indirect way he's ever used, the Mayor is indeed inviting everyone to come in to speak with him. Unfortunately, when one enters the grand room within, they will find only lavish furnishings--several plush sofas and armchairs of the finest quality--set around a roaring fire in the fireplace and the four original occupants of the other locked rooms. The Mayor will be absent.
However, there is a set of doors directly opposite the entrance to the room, and these doors are locked. Listen closely, however, and one will hear the muffled tones of a Vivaldi suite from within. For the music to be heard that well within the room, it must be up fairly loud--and with good reason too. Only those with really good hearing will be able to discern that there are, in fact, two voices inside occasionally talking to one another, and sometimes arguing.
The doors will open, as it is about time the Mayor answered some pretty weighty questions, but they won't open until this coming Friday. What occurs during the discussion with the Mayor will determine the outcome of the game, so it may be best for those who spoke with certain NPC characters to pool their knowledge together now before heading in.
The NPC characters will be available for further questions if your character chooses to talk with them, but they will not be following the characters in to face the Mayor. They also won't leave the room either, so unfortunately, the only privacy that can be found is a corner of the room itself.
A discussion/mingle post similar to the one used during the Founder's Day Festival will be put up in just a few minutes here, but if you'd like private discussions, you are more than welcome to put up a post of your own!
