My lung biopsy went well. They were able to get the sample they needed through keyhole surgery with no problems.
We had a scare that morning that they might not do the surgery since I had an adverse reaction to some blood products I received (surgery prep starting at 4am!) But once the shakes stopped and the fever went down, I stabalized and all was a go.
To add to my collection I now have 2 "puncture like" wounds, one on my right side and another on my back, along with a tube in my side draining any liquid out of my lungs/chest (hopefully this comes out tomorrow.) The pain varies from none to yowzers! but is being managed by a PCA and some extras. Besides it being impossible to get around on my own lugging all my baggage I don't have many complaints. Yesterday I was so tired I was falling asleep mid sentence, while eating (dangerous) and yep, even on the toilet. Today I am tired, but not that tired.
And now we continue to wait.
