I had a great day yesterday! I don't care that I never finished my position paper for English on the word "impunity!" I don't give a shit at all!
Okay, so yeah. Uconn.
I just noticed that Uconn is the only school I can think of whose students refer to it by its name, rather than "school" or something. Everybody who mentioned it called it Uconn.
I left the house at about ten. The drive up wasn't as bad as I thought. I was nervous about it because I've heard that staying on 84 (the only important thing you have to do to get there) while driving through Hartford was tricky, and it was. They try to get you off 84 all over the place. I think it has something to do with traffic needing to be thinned out, and the only way to do that is by tricking the weaker and stupider (yep) drivers into taking an exit so the rest of us don't have to be bothered by them anymore. I blasted my ATB CD (which consisted of eight remixes of the same song, but it's a good song, so shut up), and when that was done, I threw on Drowsy Chaperone. It was funny, because right when they said "Look! Up ahead! Do you see it?" was when I saw the sign for my exit. I filled in (read: "changed") the answering line: "Could it be? Yes! It's Uconn!" I said it out loud. Really did. Shut up.
It's very pretty up there this time of year. I'm glad I got to see it the way I did. It sucks that there are only a few weeks of the Autumn the Flat-Landers know us Ridge-Runners for, but it's really fucking nice outside now. I'm enjoying this while I can.
So yeah! I made it! At about 11:45, I think! There was this big festival going on outside, and there was a person in a carrot suit hugging kids and shit, and I thought, "What the fuck do these kids think is so great about this guy? Don't they understand the type of universe we'd have to live in for something like this to be possi
and then I forgot about that, because holy shit! There was Ann! She had come outside to get me. We went upstairs to her floor and were walking to her dorm when her roommate Mary (whom I've been talking to for a while now. Very sweet girl) jumped out from behind a door and hugged me, and we both yelled each other's names, and I was like, "Ragin'!" except... shit, I didn't say that. I should have said that. Fuck.
So that happened. And then the three of us went into Ann's room, and we all talked and got comfortable as a group (which was not difficult at all), and then we played a few rounds of Mario Kart 64. I suck at Mario Kart 64. I came in third every time. We all placed the same rank each time, which was cool, because Luigi says neat stuff when he wins, and that's what he was doing.
"Ho ho ho! Bingo!"
After we finished there, Mary went off to a volleyball game, and Ann and I watched Waiting for Guffman. Then we watched the Waiting for Guffman deleted scenes. Then we watched several of those scenes again.
Then it was 5:00. Whut the fuck. We had to go do something, like eat. We called J-Bay and we all walked over to the student union, where we called and waited for Mary. We all got dinner from Fwendy's and chilled for a bit.
I don't think I met or interacted with any males that day. God, there weren't any! Well, we tried to find Billy Magin, but the lack of a ray of light piercing the night sky (an indicator of his position) meant a doomed endeavor, so we didn't search for very long. We did, however, make up a B.M.-themed addition the "ragin'" phenomenon, which you probably don't know about, and rightfully so.
Then we all went to Jenabay's room and she shared her Halloween candy with me and Andrea while we searched for Halloween costumes online. All I remember about that is just looking at the screen and seeing a hand holding an open bag of gummi spiders slowly and considerately easing into my field of vision. That was great. Jenabay is nice. She gave Andrea a knitting lesson, too. That was sort of fun to watch.
At one point during our visit, Jenabay's roommate came in with her friend and they looked at costumes on their side of the room. I heard them laughing about purchasing Mayor McCheese and Hamburgler costumes, and I thought:
"FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU. SHUT THE FUCK UP. SHUT THE FUCK UP BEFORE I PUNCH YOU IN THE GODDAMN MOUTH. SHUT UP RIGHT THIS SECOND."
I know the outbursts I describe on this site are syntactically similar to one another. Don't bother pointing that out to me.
Ann and I left J-Bay for the night and went back to Ann's building. There was a bench outside of it. We sat on that for a little while, then we went inside. Mary's friend Emily was playing the guitar, and she and Mary were singing Imagine. Then Mary asked me to play Imagine and I did. I did it better.
Emily is very nice.
So we did that, and Ann made me some cocoa, and that was tasty (YUM!). It was winding down at this point. It was about 9:00. I finished my cocoa and said bye. I bought a Red Bull at the gas station so I could stay awake. I don't like Red Bull. It didn't help. I knew it wouldn't. I should stop doing shit like that.
I listened to a Monkees Greatest Hits album my dad had bought me for the trip on the ride home. There was a song of theirs that I liked in a commercial one time, and I asked who it was by, so about a month later (two days ago), he bought me the CD. It's good driving music. Then came A Mighty Wind. Just wonderful.
So fuck you guys. All in all, I had the best fucking weekend ever.
And it's not over yet! This weekend is going to be great, too! SDFOISDNFUNSUDFSBDFSDFKTBCSDFIJSDOIFOSDFOIJSDOFJFP(WIURBVDSKVKZXC
Uconn trip #2 is also going down very soon! Gonna be great!
FRIENDS!
UPDATE: Being tired is no excuse. Ann was right for pointing out my B.M. mistake. I fixed it. All is right with the world.
