Straight Dem except for Attorney General. My patience is thin right now with Democrats who aren't actually progressives, and I really can't get behind this guy when he's so radically gung-ho to preserve an execution system that was ordered by our Supreme Court to be suspended due to its inherently racist overtones. Knowing little of Philly politics I looked up the Dem and decided I couldn't vote for him either... I thought the libertarian looked good but now I'm hearing she's a nutjob... cripes! what to do what to do?

I know. It's really hard. My feeling is this: The D and R candidates are functionally similar. The libertarian won't win. _but_ if the Libertarian takes a nice chunk of the percentage vote (say 10%), that might influence the behavior of the AG that does win and has an eye towards being re-elected. Just my $0.02.

That's my thought as well so I voted for the Libertarian. And whereas both the D and R candidates scare me... I have to say, for the first time ever, the D candidate scared me more. I had to do a double take when I read the D candidate platform to make sure I wasn't looking at the R candidate. BTW, that was my first vote for a libertarian ever.

I _totally_ agree with you re: the Dem being scarier than the Rep. So weird! It was like... ok, I can't think of anything good to say about the Dem, and he's got this weird position on the execution program. The Rep at least had one good thing going which was focusing on fraud that's aimed at senior citizens. ~facepalm~ So Bizarre.

It is often used in place of the word liberal these days. Although they're not the same exactly. ~scratches head~ I think of it this way: Progressives are the upstarts. The ones really demanding some change around here. It tends to be about social and political reform.
