also read so far this year:
Conjugal Rites - Paul Magrs - the latest Brenda and Effie story - those determined ancient detectresses of whitby
Space Captain Smith... whose author escapes my memory. cheesy. firefly meets flashman with a terrible side swipe at blade runner. good fun, but fairly forgettable.
next to read is probably Anathem by Neal Stephenson. it's a big, big book, which is why i've left it for a weekend to start it.
And as we have had to uninstall WOW and reinstall in an attempt to get Lich King to install past 3%, I will have lots of time to read while I wait for patches to load. (current status: 12% of 1.1Gb) I have a horribly feeling it will do no good and we simply won't be able to run it on this machine. there. i've said it. go prove me wrong universe. The new copy of the game hangs at the same point the other one did which prompts this pessimism.
Pook has tried to allay my warcrack withdrawal by buying me a lovely book about cloth bunnies, two bars of chocolate and monster munch. it's helping a little tiny bit.
I do love him for trying, but i think he's on a loser with this one.
