A Good Day!

Hi Y'all. Today has been a good one so far, and with me being up and down so much recently, I wanted to post about it while I was feeling so up.

I'll need to catch you up on what's been happening to me, as I haven't posted since Saturday. Sunday was mostly a good day. We had a nice church service. Bro Paul told me that John, one of the boys at church, was looking for a kitten, so after church I had a word with his Momma, and then with him. He's going to take Bo when we leave. He wanted to take him now, but we want to get him a bit more house trained, and fatten him up a bit before he leaves us. Another coincidence was, when John asked us what we called the kitten, we told him, and he said that he'd already picked out the name for his next cat. Beaux. Ok, it should really be spelled beau, as that's the singular French word, it means handsome or beautiful, it also used to be the old-fashioned word for a girl's boyfriend. Anyway, Bo's going to keep his name, even if the spelling changes, which is a good thing, as he knows it, and will usually come when either of us calls him.

Sunday afternoon Talmadge, Charles's elder Brother came over. He's a nice guy and we would have had a perfect afternoon, except his control freak wife, who'd brought him over, kept calling to say I'm in your area, are you ready to be picked up. She knew I was fixing dinner for all of us, and Tal was perfectly willing to take a cab home, but she wouldn't quit calling till he'd gone back with her. By that time I was so freaked out that I got a bad Migraine, so the rest of the day was whited out. Lisa is no one to get on the wrong side of, and she wasn't happy that we and Tal wouldn't finish our get together when she said finish. It's very awkward, as she helps us with our shopping and stuff, and I don't like making her mad.

Anyway. So we came to Monday. the man from Red Pest turned up mid morning witha big canister of spray, to protect the inside and the outside of the house against bugs of every kind. Unfortunately, when Bo saw him, he did a runner. pelted off the porch, ran across the street and out of sight. He didn't come back for hours, though we kept checking and calling, and by the afternoon I was sure he'd gone for good, which brought on yet more Migraine. I'm going through a bad patch right now, what with worrying about my money, and which country we'll live in, so more stress on top is making everything worse. Well, I had to go and lie down, and I was fast asleep when I heard a voice saying "I have good news. Bo's back!" and so he was. Little monkey knows which side his bread's buttered, and had come back for his dinner. Yikes, was I glad to see him!

Well, so we come to today. I woke up without a headache, fed all three of us breakfast, Bo was not impressed with the rather late arrival of his, and once he'd gone back out on the porch, Charles and I settled down to recording. We did two new songs today. The arrangement of Penny To My Name got finished yesterday, and it's gorgeous, so I was anxious to get that one in the can, and then another one I've pinched off Charles, a song called Love's Grown Deep, it's so pretty. After we'd got those two down, we had yet another try at a song we've already recorded, but that I've never been happy with. See The Love was the first arrangement Charles ever did for me, but for some reason I really wasn't happy with the recording we took of it, and the more I listened the more unhappy I got with it. We had several retries at it, but they were no better, it's a deceptively hard song to sing. Well, today we finally got it down. I'm so pleased. We now have twelve songs in the can. I'm not saying there won't be more. It means that when we come to make the cd we'll have more than we need, and can choose the best ones.

Well, you're about up to date. I'm sorry I haven't signed into msn recently, my mood's been so swingy I just haven't felt much like talking. I do honestly count my blessings, of which I have a lot, but blessings bring worries with them too, and big decisions, but we'll make it through somehow. I'm glad someone read and liked the poem. I knew Clare would read it!

Well, that's me done for the moment, I guess. Almost time for Bo's supper. Huge huggies to all my friends, wherever you are in the world. Big smiles. See y'all.
