GO GO House Adventure Time!!!

So I guess buying a house means you need to be all responsible and shit.

Yeahhhhhh...  *cough*

Now I know why Slinky disappeared forever.

So the deal went like this: my dad is buying the house so I can concentrate on squishing my student loans into nothingness.    I figure in three years I'll have my loans paid off and be debt free.   If I want to buy the house, my dad will sell it to me, if I don't then he'll find something to do with it.

But I'm helping the home buying process so that way I actually understand what is going on when it's my turn.  Getting a hold of the mortgage rep was a pain because no one was actually calling my father, despite the fact that he left like a million messages with peeps.  Finally someone got back to him, and she had a valid excuse for not getting back right away because her mother had a heart attack.

But that was squared away the next day, so it was on to arranging the insurance.  Which shouldn't be a problem since we have six vehicles and were trying to add a third house.  (My father had to co-sign for my brother's things)

I WAS WRONG.

My dad contacted them on Monday, and they said they had appointments lined up and they would call my dad on Tuesday.  Nothing.  Wednesday.  Nothing.

So then my father goes there, explains what's going on, and gets the paperwork on Thursday.  When he got home, he realized that the paperwork had my brother's address on it.  Which meant the inspector for the insurance would look at the wrong house.

So Friday, I called I said, "Oh Hey, my dad was there and the paperwork has the wrong address on it."  The lady at the desk said she knew what I was talking about, put me on hold for about five minutes, and then asked for a number to call back.  When she calls back an hour later, she asks for a fax number.  I leave my lunch break thinking that I have solved the problem with my powers of awesome.

Pffffft....

This lady send me a random paper with a swimming pool, something about paychecks, and absolutely no address.  I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE HELL IT IS.

So I Googled for a different agent, and found one that had an exceptional service award and was closer by.  Cool.  My dad went there, talked with the Agent, and the dude tried to help him out, only to find out that he couldn't.  So the Agent called his SuperAgent hotline and talked to some guy in an office in another state and found out that he couldn't do anything because the insurance process was almost done!

FOR THE WRONG FUCKING HOUSE.

The good news is that this mess caught the attention of the VIP Agent and he's going to handle my dad's case himself.  It's still a pain in the ass though because this shit is taking a week when it should have been done in two days.

Cherry on the pie?  When I was going through the mortgage papers I noticed there was an random debt for a Collection Agency.    I did a credit check and found out there was a case of mistaken identity on my mom's end.  So now I have to file a dispute and mess with that.

What a shitty week.

So I console myself with the idea of decorating the Haus.  Does anyone have any rec for blogs, fun ideas or etsy shops?

house adventures, me!me!me!
