“So, how often does Donghae come to visit you, Eunhyuk?” Doctor Kim asked.
“He visits me every day,” Eunhyuk chirped happily, lying in his bed.
“I see,” Doctor Kim said, looking at the grin on his face in slight disapproval. “Eunhyuk can you explain your relationship to me?”
“Well, Donghae and I met in high school. I had a crush on him forever but he was dating someone else,” Eunhyuk’s eyes drifted as he recalled their past. “He happened to join the dance club that I was in. We started to hang out a lot, with me hiding my feelings for him the whole time. We became best friends and eventually he admitted he liked me as much as I liked him,” he smiled a bright gummy smile. “We’ve been inseparable since then.”
  “What about after the accident?”
Eunhyuk frowned as visions of Donghae bleeding in the driver seat surfaced. “He’s been more worried about me, even though he was hurt the most,” Eunhyuk finally said, eyes gazing out the window.
His mind shifted to that night. He remembered the feel of Donghae’s hand in his, grinning happily at him and leaning in to steal a kiss every now and then. But then his mind shifted to another set of images. A piercing loud horn was suddenly blaring at them. Lights were gleaming in through Donghae’s window. He could feel when the two cars made impact. His whole body was thrown against his door, the car swerving dangerously and throwing him and Donghae around with it. The last thing he remembered was calling out for Donghae in a weak voice. Donghae’s eyes fluttered to his weakly and he looked at him. Then the pain became too much and he quickly succumbed to the darkness.
Doctor Kim watched as the tears slid down Eunhyuk’s cheeks. He looked around for a tissue before handing one to Eunhyuk.
“Sorry,” he apologized. “It’s just hard to think about, you know.” The doctor nodded sympathetically.
“Well, that’s all for today. I’ll be back to check up on you tomorrow. The nurses will come in later to give you your medication,” the doctor stood.
“Thank you Dr. Kim,” Eunhyuk smiled softly at him, collecting himself. The doctor nodded and headed out of the room.
Eunhyuk watched as the door closed and sighed. He hated being in here. The awful hospital smell seemed to be radiating from his skin. He couldn’t wait until he was released so he could shower with his favorite shower gel in his own bathroom. He wanted to eat food that actually had a taste and see something other than four white walls and the horrible plain sheets of his bed.
A soft voice interrupted his inner complaining. “How are you feeling?”
Eunhyuk looked up and saw soft chocolate brown eyes looking into his. A soft hand caressed his face and he sighed happily, leaning into the touch. “I feel fine. I wish they would let me go home already,” he pouted and Donghae chuckled softly at the sight.
“They’re just doing their job. You can’t go home until you’re well.”
“But I miss you,” he whined softly.
“I see you every day, baby,” Donghae smiled widely now.
“It’s not the same,” Eunhyuk insisted. Donghae laughed and climbed into the bed with Eunhyuk. He pulled his cute boyfriend into his embrace and Eunhyuk happily snuggled into his chest. They sat in a comfortable silence for a while, just enjoying each other’s company.
“I love you,” Donghae suddenly said. Eunhyuk looked up and saw a serious expression on his face.
  “I love you too, Hae.”
“You know that I’ll always be by your side right? No matter what happens?” Donghae asked, a slight frown creeping into his features.
“Yeah, I know. What’s wrong Hae? What happened?” Eunhyuk asked, wondering about Donghae’s strange behavior.
Donghae looked into Eunhyuk’s eyes for a long moment and ran his fingers over the large wrapping on his forehead. “I’m worried about you.”
“Donghae, I’m fine. The doctor said my injuries aren’t that serious. I’ll be as good as new in a few weeks, okay?” Eunhyuk said, taking Donghae’s hand and holding them tightly in his.
“Eunhyuk-“ his words were cut off with Eunhyuk’s lips on his.
“Stop worrying, okay?” he smiled and snuggled back onto his chest. Donghae looked on sadly as Eunhyuk drifted into a quiet slumber. He slowly ran his fingers through Eunhyuk’s hair.
“Always remember that I love you. You’ll always be in my heart,” he whispered quietly. He pressed a kiss into the sleeping boys’ hair and held him securely in his arms, knowing that their time together was limited.

“How is your new patient Kibum?” Doctor Choi asked as Kibum sat down heavily next to him.
“He’s still delusional. He thinks that Donghae is here and even visiting him while he’s in the hospital,” Kibum said sadly.
“The connection between them must be extremely strong if he can hallucinate his image so vivdly,” Doctor Choi commented.
“It’s beautifully tragic. He doesn’t want to let him go, but he needs to move on. He needs to come to terms with Donghae’s death first, so that he can grieve and let go. I know that somewhere in his mind he knows that Donghae isn’t coming back, but the rest of him doesn’t want to accept it.”
  “That’s what you’re here for.”
Kibum sighed sadly. “Yeah. But to fix him, I have to break him first.” Dr. Choi patted him on the shoulders in encouragement as Kibum pulled out Eunhuyk’s file and started to read.

A/N: I don’t really have an explanation for this. I couldn’t make a full-blown angsty fic so this is what came out, and it’s pretty short too. And I really hate angst but I still wrote this. I even killed Hae! *sighs in frustration* Sorry. I still hope you enjoy it… you know, as much as you can.
