A new home?

May 07, 2009 23:02

Xander walked into the guestroom. It was quite big, and much much nicer then the hotel-room he had stayed at. You could see it was a woman that had decorated even though it wasn't very... womanly. Walking into the bathroom he noted he wasn't the first man that had stayed there either. Oh well. It was all very clean and... neat. Almost a bit ( Read more... )

Lilah had smiled and showed Xander the guestroom, the only one who'd stayed here before him was Lindsey. While Xander was busy checking out the room, Lilah kept herself busy in the living room working on her laptop. When he came into the room afterwards and thanked her she smiled at him. "You're welcome it's the least I could do really."

Xander tilted his head slightly... "Least you could do? Extra perks for being your assistant?" What did she mean by that, he thought... There were... many perks already, he figured. Peace of mind around her (not to mention those legs...), and... hopefully... a good pay-check.

Lilah shrugged. "Well as far as giving you a better placr to stay than that rat trap they have the nerve to call a motel." She said. She went back to working on her laptop as if he hadn't even entered the room.

At the description of the hotel he stayed at, Xander looked down on the floor and chuckled slgithly... "Well, yes.... There is that. I'll just get over there and get my things...." And with that he started to walk towards the door, when he thought of something. "Ehm... Will you keep the door unlocked, or how do I get back in?"

Lilah simply nodded when he told her that he was going over to the motel to collect his things. When he asked her how he was supposed to get back in, she handed him a spare key. "This should do for now, and tomorrow I'll have a new set made up." She said with a smile.

Catching the key's in the air, Xander smiled back at her. "Alright." and then left ( ... )

Lilah wasn't home at the moment, but her apartment was far from empty. When Xander walked into the living room, Lindsey was sitting in one of the arm chairs as if he lived in the place. He looked over at Xander and waved. He noticed the confused look Xander had and decided to explain. "Yeah she's not here right now, she ran out to get some things and I ran into her on her way out, so she said I could just wait here." He smiled.

OK. Awkward much... Xander swallowed. "Ehm... Yeah... Clothes I remember." As far as Xander knew Lilah and Lindsey might be a couple of sorts, and here he was coming with a bag to stay in her spare room. Awkward really didn't cower it. Pointing at his bag, he said: "She just offered me the spare room here... I... really had not much to do with it, so... No ideas or anything. I promise!" Yay... Babble-boy was back. Xander sighed inwardly.

Lindsey had to keep from laughing at just how akward Xander was right now. "I know that you're staying here and I don't really care. Lilah and I aren't together." He explained.

"Oh." That was all that Xander could think of saying. And after standing still for a moment more, he remembered that he still held his bag and went to put it away in the guest-room. Surprisingly without falling over on his feet... Next to Lindsey, in his sleek suit sitting totally comfortable in Lilah's sofa, Xanders good mood disappeared rapidly. He had no chance competing with that. He returned slowly to the living room, with an embarrassed smile. "So... What now?"

Lindsey waited for Xander to come back into the living room shaking his head and chuckling to himself a little. When Xander came into the living room again Lindsey looked him over critically as if he was a piece of art. "We're going shopping, you need clothes that are more suitable for the office." He exaplained as he got up.

Shopping? Xander looked down on his jeans and shirt. OK... "Hmm... Alright. I... don't have that much money though. The Firm pays for it?" Wouldn't surprise him really... If it was Lilah or Lindsey, he'd owe them, and that... would be a bit uncomfartable. Especially if it was Lindsey.

"Don't worry about it this is on the firm." Lindsey explained. "Besides can't have an assistant of Lilah's looking..well like they belong in construction or something. Lets go I know the perfect place to take you."

He did have a point there, Xander thought. He had been working as a construction worker for a long time now, and it showed in how he was dressed. Besides, he'd never had a job that required special clothes. He nodded at Lindsey.
"Alright. You seem to know what is needed. I am still new to town, so show the way." Xander still didn't trust him (he wasn't even sure he trusted Lilah 100%), but for now he kinda needed his help.

Lindsey smiled and headed for the front door. He knew of at least two stores that were still open, and a few others thatwould open up for him if he called them. He made it out to his car and got in the driver's seat. Soon they were headed out.

Xander felt sorta tense around Lindsey, but he followed him to his car and got into the passenger seat. What was it with these people and fancy cars...? He just looked around inside the car, not daring to touch anything, what with his luck and all. (Was he growing up, or just being more careful?) Looking out the window, he could see it was getting late for shopping, but also that there were a few stores open... fancy stores...
