i hate when rich people say money isn't important. yeah, it's really easy to say that when you have a lot of it. you may not be able to buy happiness, but you sure can buy security. it's easy to be idealistic when you have nothing valuable to lose.
that's what bothers me about the hippis. sure it's fun to denounce materialism and capitalism and love everybody and drop acid... but it really sucks to live without the material comforts that surround us everyday... and it's really hard to do that without leeching off of someone else's capitalism-encrusted paycheck...
