A/N: Post ep for For the Defense , but no spoilers. I don't ship these two, but I thought that Friday's ep needed something more. Also, I hate writing post eps. :/
Connie looked at Mike timidly.
“We could get started...”
“This isn’t a fairy tale, Connie! There isn’t going to be some happy ending. This is real life and in real life, we can’t always do the things we want --”
Connie stepped back from Mike, just enough to give him some breathing room. She bit her lip and remembered to breathe.
“And what about what I want?”
“I just don’t see this ending happily.”
“Dori, did you forget? You two have work to do!” Jack called from the hall.
Mike and Connie exchanged glances and started on their stack of motions.
