A fine fine line between insanity and normality INDEEEEEED

My teeth are hurting me big time so to distract me I though I would go all random enthusiasm at you...

Two musicians are making me squee at the moment, first would be Duncan Browne whose beautiful music deserves to have wider acclaim. He is known by some people because David Bowie covered (v badly) one of the (v sexxy) songs which he did with Peter Godwin called "Criminal World".

But on his own terms, given that even solo he wrote the most tender, beautiful things he is criminally ignored. Everyday I get sadder and sadder that he is dead.

"Criminal World" is seriously just too beautiful, if you listen to nothing else listen to that.
electricwitch introduced me to it and I have been so grateful ever since that I realised that I should try to share the joy around....if anyone wants me to upload it I will....really in an instant.

He just uses his voice so well in it, "What a criminal world the boys are like baby faced girls", breathy vocals and breathy airy light music which this throbbing underneath it. It really is ecstasy from start to finish.

At first I was all like hey if it's good enough for Bowie, (he's such an uppity bitch that he doesn't like Sylvia after all) then it's good enough for me right lolz. (Well obviously Angie Bowie and cocaine would be a few exceptions there but then there are always those to prove the rule right?) . Then I heard it and was seriously, honestly blown away....

Since investimagating him I am also in love with

"Ninepence worth of walking"
Another in the similarly, achingly fragile mold is this song of his "Mignon" << yousendit link.

He seems to have this folky fixation on mysterious wymmenz of which I heartily approve, the amount of tracks on his albums that cover that topic.... bless him he had a type. Many people compare his early stuff to Nick Drake (who I haven't heard but I will once I can get stop listening to Browne)

I also like massively "Babe Rainbow" <
Then this man went from whimsical baroque folky stuff like that to making far more wonderful more rocky tracks like "Wild Places". I am squeeing mostly because some kind being has put up another performance of this song on YouTube and it's v good quality....
The existing one which I referred to in this entry was rather grainy and poor quality.

Basically in this 'new' video a good song is made even better by virtue of the bonus lolz from the presence of the tigers, the tiger woman and Browne's leather outfit which is worn with a sensible shirt daringly undone beneath...

OOOOH BROWNE YOU WILDMAN....

Another performance of the same song can be found here where he tries to look respectable in a suit (was that a lost cause when you also have a woman in a tiger print leotard humping your leg? I'll let you decide) and actually comes off looking more like a female to male transexxual school boy...with a mad bint humping his leg....

Anyway HE IS ACE and so neglected by music history that his CD's are virtually impossible to get in this country or anywhere so all of his albums are availiable to download from this Time Has Told Me Blog

PLZ if you have time check him out, he deserves all the cheerleading he can get...

The other person I am in love with right now would be Steve Wilson the maestro behind Porcupine Tree which is the band that Richard Barbieri is now in. The reason I an enamoured is because I discovered Wilson's website, looked at his pictures and was like lol at what a camera whore he is. Porcupine Tree are supposed to be this heavy hard core rawk band and yet their lead singer takes My Space pose pigtures of himself which he then fixes with painting Photoshop tool.

LOL HARDCORE ROCK MAN UR DOING IT WRONG.

Also the others are entertainingly of nothing much just like my pictures are and I looked at half of them and was like lol I so would have taken that picture too...of the bench in the park forlorn....the man just has my type of aesthetics...awesomeness

I especially like this one.

Simple and yet something about it....glittery lights and Wilson's girlish figure I suspect but ah well...I never claimed I had a deep sense of aesthetics did I.LOL

Most of all I love him for this quote - see above on how much I like quotes...

"There is a thin line between an artist and a serial killer"

It appeals to me...
