Flooding the kitchen . . . and other relaxing weekend activities

What a start to last weekend! I was in the living room when I heard the sound of breaking glass and the hubby swearing loudly. What had happened? The other day he'd filled our new honey mead from the huge glass balloon into bottles and filled the glass balloon with water to rinse it. Now, he'd wanted to empty the glass balloon over the sink. He'd just lifted it up when - bam! - the glass balloon burst, just like that. As a consequence, we had about 20 litres of water flooding our kitchen and shards and splinters lying everywhere. It took us about 3-4 hours to clean the kitchen because the water had run everywhere - under the fridge, into some of the cupboards and cabinets, even into the upper drawers. Oo Not to mention that the carpet was soaked, of course. Luckily, the kittens were on the balcony and NOT in the kitchen when it happened, or they might have got hurt. And there IS one positive effect to the entire incident: right now the kitchen is far cleaner than it has been for a while. :P

Other than that, we had a pretty calm weekend for a change. I decided not to do any work for school (Ha! Go me! lol), and so we spent a lot of time watching winter sports on TV, reading and cataloguing some more of our books.
