phew
I had a migraine when i woke up and was actually going to work on a Ten/Donna sequel fic that i started in March 2012. Imagine my dismay when i could only find my original version of this fic that was only 7 pages long when i knew i had written quite significant rewrites since then and within the past year (i.e. in Japan). But the new version of the file wasn't on my new laptop or passport in my usual ...writing/doctor who/ folders. My old PC is still in the US with a dead graphic card, idk if i'll ever get it up and running again for sure. So i was a bit upset and gave up on writing, wondering if i should just keep writing from farther along in the story and hopefully recover the beginning of my story eventually.
About twelve to fifteen hours later i finally realized where my newer version of the story was. It was in my Dropbox because i was last working on it on my tablet. My up to date version of the WIP is 39 pages long. Oh thank God that it isn't lost. Even if i never finish it or post it, i don't think i could take that again. My original PC lost a huge Dark Angel fic that i had been working on and i still haven't recovered.
ETA: Instead of writing i ended up reading some WIPs that i have absolutely no memory of writing. I remember intending to write a fic with the same overall plot idea but not that i had started working on it. And the other fic was so beautifully written but is named Kangaroo and i have absolutely no idea what it was going to be about. At all. I'm sure i was intending the alien sex bits to be based off kangaroo sex, but beyond that i'm clueless.
ETA2: Speaking of alien sex, i really want to write a Twelve/Missy fic where the sex is based off Spotted Hyenas but am not sure if that's just too far out there. And just in case you don't know what is so special about female Spotted Hyenas, you can read this.
