It's the twenty-fourth;
Feels like just another night
Of my vacation.

Light dinner tonight
That's more like a midnight snack
That's before midnight.

Some spicy sausage,
Filipino chorizo,
Rolls, and lumpia.

Not sure I'll stay up
Until it's after midnight.
Feeling sleepy now.

Still used to summer
When I had a lot less work.
Weekend is too short.

Went fishing again
On a Saturday morning.
Dad caught Spanish mack.

Wind was fierce and cold.
All I caught were fishing lines
And some wind-chilled feet.

Surprisingly caught,
After three hours of fishing,
Fourteen blue runners.

Arrived late morning
To some open parking space.
That's weekdays for you.

Strong breeze and big waves,
There were surfers venturing
In deeper waters.

No one caught a thing
Before we got rained upon.
Forced to leave the pier.

Rain soon tapered off,
So we stopped to have some lunch
At pier restaurant.

Arrived mid-morning
To lots of parking spaces.
Like this pier better.

Soon as we started,
Folks started bringing up fish.
Didn't take us long.

Even I caught some,
Though just one fish at a time.
Others, three or more.

By the time we left,
Caught five jointly (tangled lines)
And eight by myself.

Only thing I caught
Was a nap in the warm sun
And the cool sea breeze.

At the pier again.
Didn't catch much this morning.
Had to throw it back.

Had only caught one,
A small Spanish mackerel.
Wasn't big enough.

This time around though,
Was able to haul in three.
Bait fish, no limits.

Tried out a new pier
During weekend fishing trip.
I hauled in 4 fish.
