Time in the Trenches

Nov 15, 2008 12:04

Over the past few months I have come to the realization that I have stopped doing a number of things that I used to enjoy: crocheting, drawing, and painting. I figure that there are more parts of me that have become buried underneath the sludge of bitterness that has come years of being a functional depressive. I know that I'm still not living at capacity and am trying to get there without changing medication. Of course exercise would help me a lot, but, as many of you know, I'm pretty unmotivated when it comes to that. I'm actually pretty unmotivated when it comes to a lot of things. And so I've followed the same path for the past decade until it has become a deep circular trench that I feel I'm trapped in. Perhaps if I start doing things I used to love, I can use them as a ladder to climb out.

And so, today, I'm going to venture out to find some crafting supplies.
